Wondering what to do to get eyes tested for this Syndrome?

Usually the schirmers test is used i was first tested by ophthalmologist , a piece pf paper is use to assess the dryness

A rheumatologist can carry out a test - they put some paper in your eyes to measure how dry they are

I just had the dry eye test in May and the Schirmers test is not used anymore as it was not very accurate. My Optometrist did the new test for Dry Eye, no paper used.

might be a long drawn out process...myeye tests ttook 4 yrs before sjogrens was even mentioned...try n get yourself rererred to your local opthamology department in your hospital thats my afvice if u are truly concerned it could be sjogrens as it can be a drawn out procedure of diagnosis!

As soon as an Optometrist looks at your eyes the surface is usually cracked like a desert from the dryness so they will know.

Luckily mine had no damage - but then having been a soft lens wearer for decades I was used to taking care of my eyes!

Do you know if & where I can get any Tranquil Eyes foam replacements?

You might be able to get them at theeyepractice.com.au. they have Tranquill eye products.

Thanks everyone, I have had eyes tested re optometrist, says I have extremely dry eyes & going to keep an eye on things. Interesting to read of others with pain in knees, hips etc & extremely dry skin all my symptoms just have to go thru the process & wait & see I guess.

It is frustrating!
