I was wondering if anyone has had iron deficiency and anemia. I was diagnosed with ss in May last year. These blood tests have been normal until yesterday. In a matter of 3 months my tests have changed quite significantly. My rheumy is quite concerned but my gp doesn't seem as an has done a referral to the hospital for an endoscopy and colonoscopy which can take a month or so to come through. I am feeling pretty rubbish as it is.
Thanks

Have you considered going onto a course of vitamins and minerals? It sounds as though you are depleted of vitamin B. People with SS are usually lacking in this quarter. I have been taking a vitamin and mineral course for years now and it has helped immensely. I would have a talk to your Dr or visit a health shop. Natural remedies are more healthy than pharmaceutical drugs. Good luck.
I take a product called Spar Tone from the chemist but you must take vitamin C with it so it absorbeds into the body, you could also go to an Integrative Medicine Doctor, they do different blood tests to a normal doctor, when I went I got more help in 2 visits than I have from any doctor or specialists, I am sleeping better, no anaemia or fatique, I feel great.
Two crucial vitamins are Folate (B9) and B12, they are often depleted by some SS medications. The form you take these vitamins is also important, folate rather than the regular Folic Acid, and B12 as methylcobalamin.
