Hello all: Hi all I'am new to the group... - The Simon Foundat...
Hello all
Hello Jason and welcome to the group. Tell us a bit more about yourself. Married? Any issues at work? How often do you have bed wetting episodes and how do you manage them?
Hi I wet the bed every night yes I'am married I deal with it by wearing adult nappies and plastic pants to bed every night I also take oxybutin tablets 3 times a day I have a overactive bladder in day time too I wear nappies daytime too in work
Sorry to hear you are having to manage what should be very minor by having to go to the extreme, especilly at just the age of 50. How long have you had to use a nappy to manage your night time needs and also your daytime needs?
Hi thanks yes it's a pain dealing with incontinence I always wet the bed but back when I was growing up they never had many diapers available then so my parents delt with it by me just haveing a rubber sheet on my mattress when I was in my 20s my girlfriend now my wife got me to seek more help from the doctor s and to try other things such as bed wetting alarms and meds and to have test ect. And then start to wear dippers of a night and of a daytime too
Have you considered an AUS (Artificial Urinary Sphincter)? You would have to check with your urologist whether or no you would qualify for one.
I am wondering if you have tried any nerve stimulation therapies like PTNS? Again, that's a discussion to have with your urologist. Or have you discussed an implant like InterStim, or some of the newer similar devices on the market? You don't mention them, and some people with OAB have very good results. It isn't an outright cure usually, but it can dramatically decrease incontinence episodes.
Thank you for the advice I look into this
