SCD and Keto

Hi, has anyone tried keto diet to help with sickle cell crisis? My niece has SCD has been in the hospital for months. She had to Withdraw from college also. The pain is relentless this time. I’m just thinking outside the box. She is on so much pain meds she can barely keep her eyes open. This can’t be good. I’m open to anything at this point.
