I have two grown daughters with that trait. Growing up they have had passing out issues and stomach pains. Stay hydrated!

Thank you, it is comforting to know I am not the only one. I recently went to a hematologist and they said I wouldn't have any symptoms unless I had the s trait, but they are only finding out now that these sufferers have had symptoms all along so does that mean if we have d trait we have to wait till more of us make a fuss?!

I was told when my girls were younger that D was not sickle cell. Which they now say it is a form of Sickle Cell. One of my daughters has a daughter who has Sickle Cell Disease because she was not aware the babies father was a carrier of the S Trait. My husband who is white is the carrier of the D Trait and passed it to two of our 4 children. I pray your symptoms are not bad.

Thank you this is what I was told that none of my blood is able to sickle ever so can cause no problem. I am always freezing but also can't stand it when it's very hot I have trouble breathing when the oxygen is low which makes me exhausted and I get random pains which can't b explained. I hope you're family are ok x

Yes those are the same symptoms my daughters have. Gets bad pains in her stomach. So intense sometimes passes out. She has gotten better. Knows to stay hydrated especially when in high elevation areas. Hope your doing well.
