The waiting is by far the worst thing, hope everything turns out ok for you 🤞
Good luck with your tests. Waiting is hard, no matter what. I’m sending good thoughts.
My CA-125 at the start was 135. I did have OV . 3C stage. Had chemo without a problem, have been on a PARP med, Zejula, for almost over 3 years and had the surgery ( hysterectomy, cervix ,ovaries and other parts removed and I have been cancer free now since my last chemo in Nov.2019.So far, so good !! It is stressful, I wont lie but I hardly think about it anymore except when my labs and scan are due !! Hang in there.
I'm so sorry you are going through this! My CA-125 was 1330 at diagnosis - I was Stage 1C. All of my scans and MRI were a bit ambiguous.....they really didn't know full extent of what was going on, until day of my surgery. Full hysterectomy and Chemo. My diagnosis was in November of 2021. Hang in there - sending you positive thoughts.
Hi, Quick update-my ultrasound came back normal.
Chest xray showed a shadow which they seem to think is a ‘nipple shadow’??
Got my ca125 redone on Thursday- results today 133.
Been referred to Gynae….
Hooe everyone is doing ok xxx
Hi Susiewong7 - After experiencing similar symptoms plus excessive menstrual bleeding, I began my research with an OBGYN... I wanted to rule out Ovarian first because of my family history. The internal vag ultrasound was abnormal but the CA125 was only 37. I was referred to an OB Oncologist in Boston who didn't appear to be overly concerned about my case. It wasn't until the debulking surgery that I was later staged as advanced 3B high-grade. My Oncologist says Ovarian cancer is always a mystery with every individual (in my case, young and healthy). The worst part of it all is the 'waiting period' as others have already commented here. It took over 3 months for my initial OBGYN consultation when I complained about the bloating and periods. Then another two months to get into Boston, another six weeks for surgery and two weeks for pathology results. It was the most dreaded six months of my life to find out what was wrong with me. Good Luck to you. Hope for positive results. It is completely normal to feel anxious about things (especially when there is a lot of waiting involved) but be rest assured that medical technology is a lot better these days and there are better chances of reaching remission than there was 20 years ago (2003) when my mother was diagnosed.
