I’m due to have a scan very soon and really worried my symptoms maybe related to OC can anyone tell me
What symptoms they have, I’ve been in a lot of pain for months now but due to severe agoraphobia I have put off going to hospital for tests but now things are unbearable and I’m really really worried

Hi twinkle - As I'm sure others will say, the symptoms for OC can mimic other, more common issues. Here are the commonest symptoms: bloating, pelvic or abdominal pain, difficulty eating or feeling full quickly, urinary frequency or urgency. But everyone is different, surprisingly so in fact.
In my case, the only symptom I had was the difficulty eating, sort of like a gastrointestinal upset that went on for weeks. I got weaker and more dehydrated despite being treated by my GP for nausea. OC wasn't even on my doctor's radar!
As I said, the kind of abdominal pain you're experiencing can have many causes (much more common things than OC), so it's good you're getting it checked out and dealt with.
I will add, please pursue a real ANSWER to the question of what is causing the pain, and mention specifically that you are worried about the possibility of OC - you want to be sure they consider it and hopefully rule it out b/c you do not want delay. If you need to, take a relative or close friend with you to advocate for you when you are talking with the doctor about the scan results, especially if you tend to freeze up under stress. Hugs and best wishes to you!
Thank you very much for responding ah those symptoms are exactly when I have including daily nausea I’ve been bad for months but recently it’s getting much worse and nausea has been for about 2 weeks now I’ll certainly mention my worry to the doctor and see what he thinks I’m so terrified to know the results and yes I have a support worker who will come with me as I’m agoraphobic so she takes me when I need to go to the doctors/hospital etc
I was hoping this could be endometriosis as that’s some of the same symptoms too but as things get worse I thinks it’s less likely 😞
Thank you very much appreciate you’re reply very much ☺️
Hi there. Remember to take one thing at a time. You need to be your own health advocate and don't be afraid to ask questions. My symptoms mainly consisted of bloating and constipation after a robotic hysterectomy due to endometrial cancer. I went undiagnosed for almost 5 months and they had to open me up to a 3-surgeon emergency surgery because the cancer had ravaged every organ in my belly. Today they still don't know exactly where the cancer started--But, I'm all put back together and have one year in remisssion! Keep the faith and remember your situation is unique to you and may be something very minor and treatable. Also, take deep breaths while you are out and try to use mental pictures to help you cope with going outside. I know that agoraphobia can be crippling, but you can do it!
