Has anyone had gas and bloating with mucus discharge from anus. I have talked to two/ onocologist and they don’t suggest that I have a colonoscopy so what do you do about this. It is so aggravating and makes me feel miserable. Thanks for any suggestions

When I did a quick look on line it appears that some mucus is normally produced to keep the colon moist and lubricated. With a variety of conditions or digestive issues, such as IBS etc, gas and mucus production can become more excessive. You didn't say whether or not the mucus was bloody. Have you noticed that any particular increase when you eat particular foods?
No increase with certain foods. I have been to a gastriologist he wanted to do a colonoscopy but my onocologist said no. So I am stuck feeling awful changing depends all day I have had constipation since all the 8 chemos I have taken. Not on anything right now. Thanks
Belsie, do you have a stoma? Mucous discharge is normal for a temporary colostomy. Mucous is from the rectum and is to lubricate bowel movements. If you are constipated the mucous will exit your bottom anyway. You should have regular colonoscopies to routinely check for bowel cancer. OVCA survivors have a higher likelihood for getting cancer in the bowel, so do get checked!
