So very sorry for loss of your mom. I lost my mom 3 1/2 years ago. She was 96 and never knew about my MBC. I know too well your heavy heart. God bless you, fine1. ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐
I was praying and hoping ibrance to work for years..well it worked but with what side effects. My mom was only 56.she was diagnosed 10 years back and we had her operated in stage zero itself. We thought we were lucky to get it diagnosed so early.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. My Mom is 85 and still in pretty good health(I'm the one with MBC). She is a great comfort to me. I fear losing her, and yet I think how very sad it would be for her to have to experience me dying before her! I know the Lord Jesus Christ and believe all things can work together for them that love the Lord, but he never said we would not have any troubles in this life. Prayers for you โค๏ธ
So sorry for your loss. I must admit this has really depressed me. I have recently been diagnosed with Mbc, with mets to spine, liver, and lungs, I also have a pleural effusion which is drained twice a week. I'm on Letrozole and ibrance. I'm trying to be positive, but perhaps I'm being too optimistic.
No dear.. I didnt mean it.. Its all about how medicine works for particular.. There are people in group how on same medicine for 6 years. So please reamin positive.
Thank you. My diagnosis has hit me really hard as I had no idea I had cancer until I was admitted to hospital with shortness of breath which turned out to be a pleural effusion, caused by MBC. I have no family except a husband who is in denial. So this forum has helped me come to terms with my diagnosis enormously. A big thank you to all of you.
I was on Ibrance for 6-7 yrs. It was wonderful for me and kept me alive and I had 0 side effects. I also had pleural effusion and it went away after a few months of draining. Never stop hope. And enjoying every day.
Thank you so much for your reply, it made me feel a lot better. I'm pleased Ibrance work for you for so long. I've been on it since September 2022, but had to come off it for six weeks due to a chest infection and then having to have the pleural catheter fitted in November, I'm hoping the effusion dries up. Fortunately I haven't had any side effects from the Ibrance so far. I take each day as it comes, but sometimes struggle to stay positive,
I got the pleural effusion when the Ibrance stopped working. They tested the liquid and it was slightly her2+ and er- so they put me on her2+ meds and taxol. Thatโs how the effusion dried up. Since I changed to er- the Ibrance stopped working. Have they checked liquid. Maybe it changed too.
I don't know if they've checked the fluid. I haven't been told much, only that I've got a very large breast tumour that's spread to the lungs, spine and liver. Been on Letrozole since August 2022. Then Ibrance as mentioned before. Had a pleurodesis in August which didn't work. I had a CT scan on Tuesday this week and will be seeing my oncologist on 21st March (Hopefully). I'm in the UK and have a cancer nurse assigned to me but due to her either being on strike, annual leave, or off sick, I've found it difficult to get any answers, I've only had two face to face meetings with her, otherwise I just have phone consultations, the last one lasted 7 mins 23 secs. At the moment I feel really well, much better than I have for months.
