Hi Fellow MBC’ers: I recently learned that my past 2 months of experiencing an allergic reaction immediately after the Faslodex shots has a name, Broncospasm.
Symptoms:
Blood pressure spike, wheezing, heavy chest, tongue or face stinging. After about 15-30 minutes symptoms subside. Heavy chest can linger for days & weeks.
After almost 6 years of responding well to Faslodex, my doctor says I have to stop.
Please don’t ignore these symptoms if they occur for you.
🙏❤️🙏

Thank you for the warning. I am back on Faslodex as of this past Monday and have a history of taking it . All it os doing to me is making me even more exhausted.
I'm so sorry that this has happened to you. Do they know what can cause this to happen after so many successful years on this med? It sounds very scary. Sending you hugs and prayers that they can find a different treatment protocol that will work for you.
You are welcome. I hope and pray the AI works for you. I also hope the new med gets approved quickly by FDA, especially if it can work for people with or without ESR1. It does sound very promising and and taking a pill sounds much better than getting shots! Sending hugs and prayers.
I’m so glad you’re stopping the Faslodex! Those are such serious reactions! Faslodex has a half-life of 40-50 days, it stays in your system a very long time.
Hopefully, you’ll feel better soon and your next medication will be a better experience. I can’t take Faslodex either. I am taking Exemestane without any problems.
If you have the ESR1 mutation Oserdu is on the market. I have been on Faslodex 9 yrs and have not had anything except if pain of the shots but my Onc admits we are in uncharted territory as there is no data about people taking it this long. Thanks for the warning!
I’ve experienced this crazy cough these last 2 faslodex injection,it starts the next day and goes on for 7-10 days hours and hours of coughing with a heavy feeling on my chest . Dr put me on albuterol inhaler and prednisone, and wants me to continue the faslodex . Strange my oncologist thinks it’s not related , ( currently off of Kisqali due yo elevated liver enzymes and will switch to ibrance once down hoping in less than 2 weeks )
