Hi Ladies! Never thought I would be asking this question..... but this group is filled with such wisdom, smarts and empathy that I am baring my soul (and my butt)
I have had lots of diarrhea from Affintor and now from Truqcap. My butt is raw from all the action. I tried wipes and aloe but nothing makes it feel better. Any ideas? Thanks so very much.

I second Desitin. also, i got a bidet kit that can be hooked up in an existing toilet andcan be turned ln manually using the clean cold water in the tank. found it helpful and.soothing.
I was told by my Palliative nurses not to sit on the toilet for a long long time but to get up when you can and then go back again and sit down if you need to go again. So that’s one thing I wanted to let you know and I find that in answer to a butt/skin question… I found using wet wipes to get myself really clean, before a final wipe of toilet paper to dry. Or use a face washer I have a few of them that I only use on my bum and I just washed them straight away cleaned my bum with them. toilet paper to try and clean each just too hard on me.. good luck BorisCarloff.
OMG! it’s years since I’ve heard the name Boris Karloff
Great tip Tim Tam… I have been wanting to redo my bathroom for two decades and never have had the impetus to do it until now. But I am going to use your tip and then maybe I won’t be spending as much time in there.:))) thank you
I do not have answer for you but I am taking verzenio and probiotics helped me a lot. I do not have any side effects now and I am taking 125 mg twice a day. Merry Christmas and all the best
I’m so sorry you are experiencing “raw butt” but we’ve all been there…maybe? I make sure to use lots of Cottonelle or something similar that is damp and not dry like TP (don’t flush). In between I find some salve that is as all natural as possible but Vasaline is okay too, anything to bring comfort.
This might be TMI but also try to go for awhile without any underwear on, it’s just comforting to air things out a bit.
I too deal with diarrhea with Ibrance and immunotherapy and use zinc in baby diaper rash cream. It protects your skin. I don't know if like me you are also using depends for the diarrhea because I have to because I hate having accidents and then the clean up if I am not wearing a depend.
So sorry so many folks have this issue. They can send a man to the moon, but they can’t figure out cancer drugs without this my product.:)))) perhaps someday. I’ve not gone the Depends route yet, but I’m sure that’s in my future. On my way to the drugstore to get the diaper rash cream. Thank you so much and merry merry..
I have had raw butt for years. Ouch. I use 5% Lidacaine ointment. Before I go I sometimes use Vaseline to soothe my butt. I also take oxycodone and pregabalin for pain twice a day. Tylenol is another option for pain.
I have been on all those drugs and they all cause a painful tush. I am currently on the chemo Taxil.
Make sure you don’t have C Diff. The diarrhea from that hospitalized me. I couldn’t get rid off the infection. My gastrointestinal physician said that the only way to rid myself from C Dif is to perform a fecal implant. I saw him on Thursday and had the procedure on Monday. After I was implanted with clean poop, I never had the problem again. Instant cure. C Diff can be deadly.
so sorry you are having this issue! Speaking from years of dermatology/wound care experience as a registered nurse first thing you need is a barrier. Good old aquaphor (pure white petroleum jelly) will give you a good layer of protection and feels very soothing, ask me how I know. All the dermatologist that I’ve worked with through many years use aquaphor on surgical wounds to keep scarring to a minimum and provide protection so the wound can heal. Yes, you can also use Desitin but most dermatologists recommend only aquaphor. Less ingredients the better as you never know what the body may react to. Good luck, hope you find speedy results result soon!
