Tumour markers up again

Hi lovely ladies, I'm 5 months into Trodelvy infusions and tolerating it ok although I've had to reduce my work to minimal levels. My first 2 tacs have showed no progression but my tumour markers are not so good. They have progressively gone up. They reached a plateau during July and August but this month they have gone up again by 300 . This is all very worrying as I know this is the first indicator that things are not going in the right direction. I'm having tacs in October and let's hope that the results swing in my favour 🫰Anyobody had a similar experience .Would love to hear . Thanks !!

I presume tacs are scans but what type of scans?

Yes pet scans of the organs and gammagraphy of the bones where I have the lesions to date

I hope it works for you for a while yet. I know it can be hard to ignore the TM's when they start climbing again.

Hi Tanya, I read your various posts, and found no mention of your having taken ribociclib (Kisqali). Perhaps mention this drug to your oncologist since research is indicating that it works when other drugs fail.

Hi Hazel, I was on Verzenio and Fulvestrant for three months from November 2023- February 2024 but they they took me off it because there was progression. I think too soon. Then I started Trodelvy at end of March. 🤞🤞🤞

Verzenio and Fulvestrant are a different combination than Kisqali and Letrozole. However, I think they are all treatments for the more common forms of invasive breast cancer. I think Trodelvy is the usual treatment for "triple negative breast cancer" which is a much less common form. Read about this form in "Medical News Today" which lets you know that some people survive no matter what the details of their case are.

Just to say that I've got the results back from my scan and no progression so yes ladies the tumour markers can be misleading. I can also add the at the latest reading of the tumour markers has gone down by 100 . So this is a helterskelter. Up and down. Lots of encouragement to you all out there. Take care and loads of ❤
