Good Morning...I am feeling a bit anxious.i was diagnosed almost 7 years ago with stage 4 breast cancer with one met next to my sacrum..I have had no evidence of disease since the first scan after having ovaries removed.(about 6 months after that surgery). My markers had jumped up to 145.then dropped to anywhere between 30 and 44 for the past seven years..7 weeks ago they went up to 54..we repeated labs hoping they would drop but they went up to 59..this is the ca 27 29..markers are part of what my Dr uses for me because thats how we knew something was going on 7 years ago..my pet scan was clear.I am going for a bone scan on wednesday..all the stress with the virus is also making me anxious.my husband had it and that was bit scary..he is fine now..I tested negative..any thoughts or postive words would be wonderful...feeling scared after all these years!

I would say if your husband had covid that maybe you had a false negative test . Possibly if you are one of those A symptomatic people it's in your system you just have no signs but it still would raise your tumor markers. Can I ask what medications you have been on in the seven years . What all did you have done on initial diagnosis??
you know i was thinking the same thing..when i was swabbed the woman barely went in side my nostril.my husband and daughter both really felt it..i was not feeling great at the time.just sleeping non stop.it was strange.I have been on anastrozole for the past 7 years.Did some zometa but developed osteonecrosis,so that was stopped.my initial diagnosis was in 2008 stage 1. I had double mastectomy and tamoxifen..when it spread in 2013 i had my ovaries removed and put on anastrozole..thats it..no chemo or radiation.I think i am going to ask my dr to order an antibody test..This virus is like nothing we have ever been through before.I think peoples bodies are reacting to being quarantined to home..
The increase in number is not a big jump so it may be the virus plus the stress you are going through.
Alexandra,
Stress and inflammation can cause markers to rise and I am one of the ones they don't really work on. Hopefully they will come back down. Best of luck. Blessings Hannah
Hello, Alexandra!
I had same anxiety this month as my last blood draw (in January) showed slight uptick in one of my cancer markers. However, blood draw last week showed that both cancer markers had decreased. I think that these tests can rise and fall occasionally, even after a long period of stability.
You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers as you get more info from your bone scan! God bless you, Alexandra!

This is such an anxious time. I pray for good results for you!
