Hello all, I just switched from Verzenio 100 to Verzenio 150. 100 made me so tired I could only do things for about 10 minutes and then I needed a rest. My stomach didn’t feel great, but it wasn’t horrible. Now I’m on 150 at my own request to see if we can stop all progression, but now I feel like a vegetable. My stomach hurts worse and nothing sounds good to eat. My anxiety has increased and I feel quite weepy. Has anyone else had a big change on Verzenio? I hate to decrease back to 100, but this doesn’t seem much like a good quality of life for sure. Thanks for any input.

Anyone on Verzenio 150?
I started on 150 and couldn’t tolerate it at all. Tired, sick, diarrhea I had the lot. They switched me to 100 and it took a while but I adjusted to that dose. Tms dropped from about 500 to 70 and I’ve been on it 2 years. I had to come off when my appendix burst for a few weeks and I felt normal again. It was a lovely feeling but what can we do except try to adjust. The lower dose didn’t stop it working for me and I’d be happy to get another year or so out of Verzenio. I’ve found I need a nap late afternoon and I try to do one thing a day. I wish you all the best but I think 150 is too strong for me. Chris
I have never seen a dosage increase on any CDK 4/6 inhibitors. From my interpretation they always start with the highest dosage to see how the individual metabolizes the medication based off the blood work. I was told by my Onc and have also read in some studies (I started at 150 then to 100 and now down to 50) that the efficacy/results remains the same. I hope you have great success with the dosage increase.
I’m sorry to hear that you are feeling worse in your attempt to fight this cancer. The sad reality is that these meds do not cure the cancer. We can only hope to achieve an acceptable balance between control and quality of life. As the cancer progresses that delicate balance is put to the test and we need to make our choices. Your mental state , the anxiety, the weakness , has a lot to do with how you are feeling physically: the more pain and weakness, the less joy and satisfaction in your life. I know that since my hip is feeling stiffer and more painful, the worse I feel mentally. Do consider returning to your previous dosage of V. Or discuss another course of treatment. With MBC , unfortunately, more is not better. I wish you the best! Maybe, maybe, there are better treatments on the horizon… and I’m just trying to get myself closer to that goal. Hope you feel better soon !
I just wanted to add this link to an article that speaks to this very issue about aggressive treatments for cancer …
I went down to 50mg Verzenio because my oncologist said that the evidence is that the lowest dose is as effective as the highest dose. Nonetheless, the fatigue really depleted my life. It was a bad year. I went on exemestane and Kisqali next and it was much better. My 2nd opinion doc said she would have started with those because the side effects are easier.
Maybe you can switch.
(Neither did me much good, so I feel I lost time for no gain.)
