Anyone out there with 4+ years of Ibrance and with tumour markers over the normal range?
I have a single mets to bone (T9) and I have been taking Ibrance and Letrozole now for 3 years and 9 months. Last month my CA 15-3 went over the normal range to 34.8, my CEA was normal. I had a very bad cold at the time and had started antibiotics the day before my bloods. I am hoping all of this to be the reason for the elevation but I am very concerned about my next bloods on the 21st, the closer it is getting the more anxious I am. Any reassuring testimonials out there please?
thanks

When I've been on antibiotics I've been told to stop ibrance. You are lucky to have tumour markers in the normal range so I shouldn't think there's much to worry about. I've been on it for three and a half years and initially my tumour markers went down then after about 18 months they started to go up. This year after three years I changed from letrozole to Fulvestrant and they've started to go down again. Last result was 143.
I'm very well and scans stable. Some oncologists don't seem too concerned about tumour markers. I'm 74.
hello I was on that combo and for three years. My markers started to creep up and the doctor took me off. Changed meds. Don’t be too quick to change give it some time. I wished I could have stayed on it. MD Anderson told me sometimes cancel cells shed and this makes the markers rise a bit-wish I would have known…
