Hi everyone-

hi Jennifer , I have not developed a cough while on Ibrance . However, I know a few people that while on Ibrance got pneumonitis or interstitial lung disease from Ibrance so I would contact your Dad's cancer center asap and have him checked out . I'm sure it could just be a regular cold but since a cough can be a symptom of this side effect from Ibrance he needs to let his oncologist know. Let us know what they say and how he feel , ok ?
Hi, I did but it was because I was getting reflux +. Once the refund was controlled the cough went.
Jennifer, please report this to your onc. I developed a cough and it turned out to be pneumonitis - lung inflammation - and I had to stop taking Ibrance.
As suggested above, you should report this to your onc immediately. Unfortunately, as we found out the hard way, not all oncologists are sensitive or even aware of the pneumonitis and ILD risks with iBrance. If they haven’t seen it before, they might struggle to diagnose it.
Forgive me being blunt for a moment, but if your onc dismisses this and the cough persists I would suggest you seek help elsewhere, ideally with a pulmonologist familiar with CDK4/6 induced pneumonitis and ILD.
Hopefully it’s not pneumonitis or ILD but it is something you need to monitor and get advice on. Glad to see you’re reaching out for advice. This is an easy thing to overlook in its early stages.
I'm going to echo what others have said about calling your onc ASAP, today if you haven't already. I developed permanent lung damage in 2016 from just a few cycles of Ibrance. I have Interstitial lung disease (ILD) now from it, and don't tolerate high moisture air very well and get out of breath easily. I have to use two different "puffers" every day. If Ibrance is causing lung issues, the sooner you get off it the better!
