hi everybody , I am on Letrozole and Ibrance, I have had really bad watery eyes , it’s been so annoying for the past 3 years , I have tried so many different eye drops , that have not worked , I had a chat with my optician , she recommended. HYCOSAN EXTRA , I have been using them for 10 days and I cannot believe how much better my eyes are , The first few days I was a bit unsure , but as time has gone on , I am so pleased with the outcome , They are a bit more expensive the other eye drops I have bought but I am so relieved that I have found something that makes my teary eyes so much better , It takes time for them to work , but I am happy with the result

Thanks for the tip. But they are for dry eyes? I have trouble wrapping my mind around the dripping being due to dry eyes. My eyes are too wet.

Dry eye can result in an overcompensation of tears , hence watery eye can be a sign of dry eye.

Thank you for the tip Liessie2014. I too suffer with watering eyes to the point that people think I am crying!

Me, too. Sometimes it is handy -- I seem SO sympathetic. Other times I make something up -- "I am so worried about the Colorado River!"

Thanks for the tip. Is it prescription or over the counter?

Wonderful!! I came to use Hycosan Eye Ointment w/Vit A before bed each night. From Amazon. My eyes are not just dry anymore, they are not getting the oils to the cornea d/t tiny oil glands blockages that open mainly from the lower lid. It took a Duke Eye Cnter Ophthalmologist with a corneal scanner to figure this out. I do apply a warm moist eye mask first then massage gently trying to get the oils up and out of the glands then follow with the oint, while listening to soft music or meditational noise. But the Dr said it could only be helped w an out of pocket paid expensive treatment by a special machine only they own! I am still looking for an even more natural gel/oint because the Hycosan is petroleum based. The irritated eye problem is worse on days with increased screen time! 🙏❤️

I turn down the light on my phone, computer and television, and I use sunglasses so it’s little better

Yes, I now do all the things you mentioned and learned about another OTC drop for the daytime named BLINK mod-severe from Amazon. I learned about this in a FB metastatic group. 👍❤️

Most of these posts about dry eye are from 4 months ago, but people have been replying in the past few hours -- so I will, too. Four months ago, I just had wet eyes, tears running down my face at times.

Now there is something sticky coming out, crusting my lower lid, sometimes causing my eyelids to stick together during the night. I mean, they are stuck together when I wake up, just my left eye. I assume that is from the oils that fancydog mentions. (My primary doc has been telling me to go to an eye doc for many months -- I don't get to it because I have so very many appointments that seem more urgent.) That seems more serious.

I saw an opthomologist for the same isssue. He said the tubes that tears drain through are very small. He later messaged me to say that he found reference to a chemo drug (which I am not on) caused this condition. Anyway he put me on. Fluoromethone drops for 7 days (prescription). The tearing stopped instantly. About 3 days after I stopped the drops the tearing restarted. He did tell me to use a dry eye OTC as well.

He said if that didn’t work I should reach back out and he would refer be to a specialist who would perform a “procedure “ to open up the tubes. I’ve not reconnected yet. Since the weather is warmer the issue is not as bad. Really don’t want another “procedure” .

May put it off until it gets cold again. Them I’m sure I’ll be crying like a baby every time I go outside .

I’ve had that done quite some years ago after being on chemo. Sounds awful but really it’s fine. They insert tiny glass tubes into the ducts for several weeks to help expand them. You can’t feel them , just have to remember not to rub your eyes!! - I went from almost constant tears down the cheeks to more like you are now so it definitely helped! . (I found it depressing just to seem like I was always crying).

Now the iBrance has made it slightly worse again. I’m going to look into these drops the poster mentions! Cold weather and being tired makes it worse for me too

Hi Nuff, I have used Fluoromethone once or twice a year when I get severe eye pain from dry eye. However, my pharmacy has been unable to get this product in recent months and are not sure why. Have you had a scrip filled in recent months?

Thank you for this tip! I will seek out this as I suffer from the same problem. Another issue is eyelid styes which developed after 1 yr on ibrance- it is also caused by dry eye and I need to do eyelid scrubs (in shower with washcloth) to keep them at bay, maybe if I got the right eye drops this would take care of that issue as well!

Hello All

Just went to my Opthomologist and had the same nonstop wet eyes , I said I had the plugs put in years ago and they worked short term and he said they are different now ? He gave me a sample of one OCusoft Plus lid scrub and was Amazed how well it worked for one time / Wiped all around the eye Wonderful Feeling !! I ordered some and will let you know the outcome I have been on IBrance N Letrazole 5+ years and just had Cataract Surgery on both eyes in Dec 2022 / Brought on much sooner due to Letrazole . I told him it seemed to have gotten worth since the surgery but who knows these drugs have all kinds of side effects But At Least I’m still among us 🕊️ Be Well All 🙏🏻

I have been on Ibrance/Letrozole for several years. I recently had cataract surgery. It made the world of difference....not only my eyesight, but the watery eyes. I have an OTC eye drops from my eye surgeon, but haven’t had to use them. My biggest issue was when I would bend over, my eyes would water like crazy!

Hi Lessie2014, I know you posted this months ago, but my eyes started watering about 6 months after starting ibrance and letrozole. It drives me crazy. They are particularly bad when I am hiking in the early morning. I am curious if you are still happy with the HYCOSAN EXTRA? I will give it a try! Thanks for posting this! Be well!
