Nail discoloration on verzenio and letrizole.

I’m concerned that maybe I have melanoma under my fingernail to calm my fear of melanoma, does anyone else have fingernail discolorations?

I am on Ibrance and Letrozole. I do not have any nail discoloration per se' but I do have nail fungus on both big toes. Honestly this occurred with chemo back in 2006 and cleared up thereafter. When diagnosed with MBC in 2017, I noticed the toe fungus again. I've known many people to completely lose their nails while on cancer meds, so I am thankful I can cover my issues with monthly pedicures. My fingernails have been fine (knock on wood) but I also have monthly manicures. I call these my monthly treats!!! Good luck!

Yes! I was just studying my nails last night, trying to figure out what I could do to hide the discoloration before I went out. For me, the bottom of the nails are clear, and the upper half is reddish, almost purple. It looks as though I had dark nail polish on half the nail. I am on Verzenio and anastrozole. Probably the Verzenio? But then letrozole and anastrozole are similar meds, and tend to have same side effects. It is not the worst side effect, but it is disconcerting. Also, my nails are crumbly and tear easily.

my oncologist looked at my mail today and said she thinks I probably hit the nail somewhere and don’t remember. She said she didn’t think it was melanoma thankfully. My mail looks like it has a small bruise under the nail with possible fungus looking stuff surrounding it. It’s not fungus but it side looks similar to fungus. My nail is so fragile. If the nail grows it breaks easily and always in the same place. It’s very frustrating! I’m going to cover it with nail polish for a few days because I can’t stand to look at it anymore.

I was on Ibrance, went off it about a year ago and have been on a few different meds since then. I've been on Verzenio for only 4 weeks and letrozole for several years and my fingernails actually seem less discolored.
