thinking of switching from Ibrance to Kisqali (Ribociclib). Any thoughts for those with lobular?

I was diagnosed with MBC both lobular and ductal with Mets to bones in spine, ribs, pelvis, neck and skull this past June. I’ve been on Ibrance for 3 months and first scan and numbers are going in the right direction. My Onc originally gave me the choice between Ibrance and Kisqali. At the time we were told that they believed the overall survival rates on Ibrance would be similar to Kisqali but that the study was not complete yet. Since we were waiting on the results of the bone biopsy we opted for Ibrance out of fear of liver damage . if the bone biopsy came back that it was not the same as the BC er+ her2- then I wanted to not risk liver issues if chemo was possible in the near future.

Things are going in the right direction now but based on the statistics thinking of switching.

just wondering how those of you with lobular are fairing on Kisqali?

very thankful for this forum. Keep fighting the fight everyone. ❤️

I’ve got lobular and ductal as well. And in all bones and now stomach. My first line of treatment in 2015 was Anastrozole and Fulvestrant with Zometa every 3 months. That lasted almost 6 years until the lobular spread to my stomach lining. Now I’m on Ibrance and Tamoxifen and Zometa. Sorry I can’t help with Kisqali but those all worked/ work for me. Good luck 🍀!

Hi! Kim 42 MBC to most bones only March 2021. On Ibrance and letrozole no evidence of active disease since 6th cycle of Ibrance. Was seeing an oncologist from an NCI approved list (I think that was the label some best National top Dr's I forget what they were called) but every month my chart and results were reviewed by a board of 100 specialists and all would agree on my treatment plan every month. Due to my age there was a 2 month period where they were going to switch me from Ibrance to Kisqali because studies showed that younger people lived longer on Kisqali but in the end they all said both were the same and they kept me on Ibrance. I'm now on my ...18th or 19th cycle of Ibrance still stable. I still always wonder and watch this studies too so definitely keep us informed! Thanks for sharing!!

thank you for sharing Kimberly. I really appreciate it. Just got scans back and there is no progression and some tumors shrunk so I think I’m going to stay on Ibrance for a bit. Thanks again.
