Lower Dose Ibrance Still Effective

Hey Guys! Asked my oncologist after last scan if lowering Ibrance from 125mg to 100mg would be ok. She agreed to do it. Just had my scan yesterday and met with onco today. Still seeing improvement at the same rate as 4 months ago. Just an FYI for those of you wondering about dosage and whether it may result in less effectiveness. Still seeing improvement and shrinkage in liver and lung. Bone mets stable. --Trish

That is awesome news! Glad to know the lower dose is working. Hope you continue to have great results.

I also switched from 125 to 75 and it has kept my bone Mets stable for 3 years. I could not handle the side effects at 125.

Same history here. From comments on this site I was engorged to ask my onc to reduce Ibrance to 100mg and 3mo PET was good. Will have 2nd PET next month so fingers crossed. I think I have slightly more energy on lower dose? Hard to tell?

I agree ... A bit more energy and it does seem to better preserve my hair!

Glad to see Ibrance is working for you! I was only on 125mg for maybe five months then switched to 100mg which I've been on since 2017. So, I agree - the lower dose works just fine.

I was on 125 MG then 100 MG and have been on 75 MG for a few months and my last scans in June showed significant reduction of tumors in my whole body.

I started out on 125mg, then dropped to 100mg and then again to 75mg as it was flooring me so much, I have been on 75mg for around 2 years now and my CA15.3 on my last lot of bloods was down to 33! I had my 6 monthly ct scan last week and am really looking forward to the results on the 7th sept. My hair still thins out a little at times and is finer than it used to be, but no where near as bad as it was on the higher doses, my nails aren’t as paper thin either 😃

I went from 125 mg of Ibrance to 100 mg. It also has been effective and my blood count is better then when I was on 125 mg. My oncologist said that she feels 75 mg is not as effective and said she’d switch to a different drug at that point. But so far scans have been stable on the 100 mg.

I was started on 125 mg, but had a lot of side effects. I went to MD Anderson for a second opinion. The oncologist there said I should be on the 75mg dose as I am a small person 5'1. I have been doing fine on that dose for the last 6 months with only some fatigue.
