I am not sure where to start, life is a roller coaster. Recently diagnosed (just this past feb) and recent Pet scan showing possible complete response to medication. Waiting for Oncologist appointment and further instructions.

That sounds good. Celebrate! Trust in the meds and look after yourself. You will settle into a new normal. I was diagnosed two years ago April and now have meds three monthly including bone treatment. They say I'm stable and that's good enough for me! Good luck! X

That sounds good to me.

3+ years since my diagnosis.

It can be an anxious time waiting to hear what the next step is. I hope you hear soon.

All the best x

It is definitely a roller coaster ride. However, it does level out !! I handsome bone leisions, ibrance kicked them to the curb. Unfortunately I am on of the leisions on the vitals, liver. I have been on ibrance and fulvestrant. Neither touched my liver leisions, kept growing. I am now on xeloda and letrozole. My liver leision is healing and no other leisions in my body. I think we learn to ride with it all. If you don't it will drive you crazy lol. I have learned to be grateful for my life and be in the present moment 🥰.

Hi Deb, I am starting Xeolda on Monday for liver lesions that progressed on Ibrance/Letrozole after 18 months and Fulvestrant for 2 months. I am wrapping my head around it. Didn’t think I would be in the chemo category so soon. I was diagnosed January ‘21. How long have you been on Xeloda? How are the side effects? Do you take it 3 wks on 1 wk off? Thanks so much!

Welcome to the group no one wants to qualify for! I'm a long timer with MBC bone mets from the beginning, March 2004, over 18 years ago. During the first scary months of this roller coaster ride, I focused on learning all I could about BC, MBC, and treatment. About 7 months in, the cancer center where I get treatment had a weekend BC retreat for women with BC. I went wondering if there would even be others there with mets, and was so happy to meet five other women with MBC. I also found out that there was a self led support group for women with MBC that met monthly. Meeting other women who had this lousy cancer was pure joy! So hope giving. Developed some wonder friendships with women I never would have met without having this cancer--one of the few good sides. One thing I have learned and seen myself is that having a good initial response to treatment is very promising! It sounds like you have that going for you, plus ,the wisdom of reaching out here! I hope you continue to do well and that you find inner peace in the midst of thistotally unpredictable cancer.

I'm also a long-timer from 2003. Mets to bone, lung and liver. Been on almost every med available, now on verzenio/faslodex. Those verzenio pills are pure evil (worse than Xeloda, in my opinion). Stable mets in bones & lung. Waiting for pet scan appointment.

Yay! That sounds like great news. I hope your onc confirms that. Agreed, it's a roller coaster. Enjoy this high point.

Welcome! I was diagnosed over four years ago, and am doing well. My first PET scan after starting meds also showed a complete response, and I have had no progression since then. I have another bone scan on Tuesday. There was a small questionable spot on my thigh last time that they will be watching. Yes, this is a roller coaster, but honestly I am too busy living right now to worry too much about it!
