Mammogram

Has anyone who still has their tumor getting yearly mammogram’s? I’ve been on this journey for 5 years. ( Ibrance 100mg & Letrozole) PET scan at the end of March showed no cancer except the tumor had shown a small progression. Just had imaging done on the breast and everything was good. I’m just curious about getting a mammogram if the scan is good, never had one until this year.

Hi,I had my tumor removed, but my onc said I should still have a yearly mammogram.

She said it could be a way of catching tumors before they get malignant.

I have the same question. Diagnosed 2 years ago and responding well to Ibrance and Anastrosole. The breast surgeon told me I already have cancer so it’s not necessary to get a yearly mammogram.

Yeah, and it seems so crazy to me! But not the thing I'm going to challenge, lol. I had 3 mammograms in the 13 months before I was first diagnosed, with extensive bone mets from the get go. None of those showed any cancer, and neither have any of the annual mammograms since! I have lobular bc and it often doesn't show up on mammograms but my docs say having one type of bc is no guarantee I won't get another type. The thing that annoys me is that there I am in this waiting room with "terminal" bc that doesn 't show up on this test and there are signs all around extolling its value in finding early bc. Sure did not work for me!

Thank you,. Received a message yesterday from my oncologist and she said no more mammogram’s for now evidently she is presenting my case at the tumor board to see how to precede.

Mine said no to mammogram also. Didn’t pick up my cancer either.
