Just wondered if anyone has experienced spread to their oesophagus? Mum has it in her lung and lymph node. Latest scan stable apart from this thickenning. She suffers with reflux so am hoping it is related to that but she is in a real panic which makes me panic. Endoscopy next week. She was doing quite well mentally but this has sent her right back. Any words or experience would be so welcome as always xx

I'm so sorry for what your Mom...and you...are dealing with!
I don't have direct experience with esophageal thickening, but I do have a good friend who has this issue...also related to reflux...and completely *unrelated* to any cancer. Although she's told that this condition increases her odds of esophageal cancer in the future...but the odds are still slim...
Did the scan report that noted the thickening use any phrases like "suspicious for metastases" or similar? I have numerous small (relatively) issues and "nits" noted in my scans...but only a few say "suspicious". Most actually say "not suspicious". Is it possible that a closer look at the report might give you some clarity and hopefully greater confidence that it's likely unrelated?
I'm glad she's getting the endoscopy and so you'll know for certain *soon* (we all know that, with scans/results, the word "soon" actually = "an eternity"!) .
One of my scans showed some thickening of tge oesophagus however I've had a couple of scans since then where it hasn't been reported so maybe it was a temporary thing for me. I have been told I have a hiatus hernia and I also suffer from acid reflux but recently that hasn't been as bad as it had been previously. I wasn't offered an endoscopy, maybe because my symptoms have improved. Hoping your mum's endoscopy results are good and are able to put her mind at rest x
