I decided to reach out to the Systems Oncology CEO. This is the company that works on development of ErSo Dfp. They keep updating us saying that more and more time is needed for its development. At the same time, researchers that developed the original compound and the modified us are full of optimism. There is a group on Facebook «ErSo activism for breast cancer» that follows its development. I posted my message to the CEO there and am reposting it here

I just sent a heartbreaking email to Dr. Mousses, the CEO of the Systems Oncology begging him to influence the development of ErSo Dfp development and advancing it to medical trials. I found an email of his EA Mr. Villani online. It was suggested online to communicate with Dr. Mousses through his EA. The email I used was [e-mail].

Dear Doctor Mousses,

I am writing to you on behalf of millions of women and men who live with metastatic breast cancer. We have a group on Facebook (ErSo activism for breast cancer, more than 2000 members) that follows the progress of a very promising new treatment for Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC), which is the stage 4 cancer that affects 1 in 3 people who get breast cancer. As you may know, 1 in 8 women develop breast cancer and It affects some men as well. Unfortunately, many women believe they have been cured only to find out that the cancer has continued to grow in their system and has metastasized to other organs or to their bones. I am one of these women living and struggling with this awful diagnosis for two years now. I try to be optimistic and I am aware that each day I am given is a blessing, however it is quite discouraging to continue pushing forward, knowing that there is currently no cure for Metastatic Breast Cancer. The statistics are also disheartening, predicting that 40,000 people are projected to die from MBC this year and every year.

My only hope is for the release of this new drug called ERSO DFP and this is the reason I am reaching out to you today. It is currently being researched and could prove to be a curative form of treatment for approximately 70% of women in my position, those who have hormone-positive breast cancer. Past research has even shown that it may work on hormone-negative breast cancer patients suffering with this disease as well.

This drug has been licensed by your company. Researchers have discovered it’s effectiveness in animals and this is highly encouraging; I am very excited and hopeful about the potential for its success in humans, ideally sometime in the near future.

We desperately NEED the clinical study to be fast-tracked! For every day that this is delayed, hundreds of women and men are dying, when this holds the true promise of a real cure. As you can see, a cure would give us a sense of inner peace and provide us with the ability to live more fulfilling lives; which means more time for us to spend with our children, our partners, holding jobs, and just enjoying life to its fullest. Even if the full promise of the drug does not result, the research conducted in this arena will ideally spur new treatments and further new treatments. Every little bit of advancement creates a glimmer of hope and helps me and the hundreds of thousands of women walking in my shoes.

We get some periodic updates from the scientists (Professor Shapiro and Professor Hergenrother and their teams) that are very optimistic. We also get updates from Madeline Sell (Systems Oncology) but they all are very discouraging. We read more and more time for preclinical trials. Please update us with some more details about ERSO DFP program.

I am desperately urging and asking you to use your influence to do whatever you can to make this clinical trial a reality. Please, please make the development of the new ERSO DFP compound the first priority of your company. MBC is a world epidemic now. Your support and involvement can help save hundreds of thousands of lives every year. I am pleading with you to support our cause and ACT NOW. With a diagnosis like mine, every minute counts.

It's so frustrating that bc has been shortening lives for soooo long but cures remain elusive. I think the 40,000 deaths per year is just in the US and my poor forgetful ol' brain doesn't remember the annual number world wide. I keep hoping that I live long enough to see a cure and now since the pandemic, global warming, Putin's attacks in Ukraine, and the divisiveness here, I have hopes to see so much else resolved and made right....... What a stressful time to be living with this already stressful cancer! We need resilience and hope, and I am so grateful that we can offer that to one another!
