My trumpet is loud!

Hi, I've been on letrozole and ibrance for over 6 months. In the last couple of months I've created enough wind for a whole orchestra. The odd one does slip out but I have control over the crescendos! The noise is loud and lasts for a long time. The other day I thought I was going to fart myself inside out 🤭! Does anyone else share this problem? Cheers Claire

You make me laugh! I haven’t noticed a difference… as I always did enjoy a good toot on my horn

I think its the Letrozole. Since I've been on it I seem to get gassyer and gassyer . 😏

Many years ago, I developed something similar. It felt as if the gas built up immediately after passing more wind. The doctor diagnosed me as being lactose intolerant. He suggested lactose free milk, live yoghurt and very little or no cheese. It worked and continues to work. Once in a great while, I have ice cream that is not made with lactose free products. I enjoy eating it and then pay the price. This may be way off the beam but I would think that it is worth trying.Commiserations!

I have the same issues and hadn't thought of lactose as the problem. I wonder if either Letrozole or Ibrance cause us to be lactose intolerant?

I am going to try lactose free milk in my coffee! Regards Claire

Hi, I had the same problem when I started taking Ibrance capsules. I think it must have been the lactose in those tablets. Since switching to Ibrance tablets; these smooth-coated tablets have the same active ingredient as the capsules, but are lactose and gelatin free, my GI issues are much better! 💚

That's interesting! I have never had a problem with lactose before so will monitor it because it's a nuisance! 🌷

Many thanks for your information. It's very interesting that Ms NShaft is experiencing the same thing! I will experiment with lactose free milk in my coffee and see how I go! Cheers Claire

Claire I just have to comment on your bird picture. Is that a pet or a pic of a beautiful bird ?

It's a pic, I think we call these parrots "28's" in Western Australia.

I have the same issue. It is rather embarrassing. I do have some lactose intolerance and have switched to plant based milks but do use Kefir (a cultured fermented milk) in my smoothies every day so that could be the culprit, too. I don't eat much cheese unless I have a craving for pizza and stay away from ice cream. I think it could be the Letrozole contributing as I still have issues the week off from Ibrance. I don't remember having this issue when I was on Arimidex for my early stage Breast Cancer.

I have the same issue on Ibrance and Faslodex. I am lactose intolerant and take a chewable lactaid tablet when eating dairy. I found it has gotten worse since Ibrance changed to tablets.

Yes, and can be very embarrassing!! Also indigestion (lots of belching)!! I have been on Ibrance and letrozol for 5 years in May.

Now that I have read other comments I think I will ask my doctor to test me for lactose intolerance!!

My farts aren’t loud, but frequent for sure, and I always have to hope they aren’t substantial ! I recall being constipated on ibrance. It’s the other extreme on piqray. I’d hate to have to give up milk! I love a latte and other milk doesn’t do the trick!

Thanks everyone for replying to my trumpet query! I was a bit reluctant to share my windy story but I am glad I did and appreciate your feedback! 🌷

An ongoing problem for me on Ibrance and Letrozole. My gut rumbles and rolls a lot after a meal and by eating small, frequent meals I manage better.

Yes I have noticed that as well!

mets dx July 2015. treatment: Ibrance, Anastrozole, and Zoladex. dairy is not part of the dietary plan, for me. i noticed the upset stomach and change of gas, when starting treatment; Ibrance was a capsule. i contacted Pfizer (Ibrance) and learned that Ibrance contained "a small amount of lactose." when the tablet was available, i switched, as it did not contain lactose. what i learned about the other culprit, the AI. Letrozole 2.5mg tablets contain 45 mg of lactose monohydrate. Anastrozole 1mg tablets contain 68.75mg lactose monohydrate.
