I make certain I put ice pack socks and hand ice pack gloves on 30 minutes before infusion of cytotoxic drug. Then I make certain I take a great quality vitamin b and a b6 daily. Then stretch out toes by standing up and rocking back and forth to help nerves stay alive
i tried to complete, however my laptop got stuck on one of the questions and i wasn't allowed to progress. i had chemo back in 2013 when first diagnosed with breast CA. interestingly, i have no recall that peripheral neuropathy was ever discussed by oncologist prior to chemo. not saying it did not come up. just saying i can't remember that it was. leads me to believe that it wasn't?? i will say the negative side effects were discussed minimally....including damage to the heart (adriamycin). if i had a chance to do over....i wouldn't. POISON.
Carole, Thank you for trying to fill out the survey. Unfortunately it's not very unusual for side effects to be glossed over. I too took adriamycin. Sending you good wishes.
you're welcome. i really wanted to complete as i wanted my severe neuropathy to be acknowledged in some small way. thinking back, it was my second to last chemo treatment, i begged to not have to continue as tears rolled. and i am NOT an emotional person. but everytime i tipped my head forward, this strong currant would run down my spine. and i knew it was not good for me. the RN called my onc and she came to IV chemo unit to bargain with me....that she would half the dose. in the end, it was my decision to agree so i can not hold her responsible. but i truly believe i should have listened to my body.
best wishes to you too. you have been there! and here!
