Hello. Do any UK members have any experience of buying travel insurance and can you offer any advice please? I understand there are different levels depending on whether you include cancer or not and therefore different prices. I'm interested to know who the helpful companies are etc.
Thanks in advance

Hello and good morning from Hampshire. I have had triple negative breast cancer for 10 years now and have found that as the pesky disease came back and then back again my travel insurance premiums went up and up. Now I exclude the cancer from the policy as it’s just too expensive, going into the upper hundreds of pounds per trip! I decided that if anything happened while I was away I’d wait to deal with it when I got home or came back early and pay for it. Xx
Pre-Covid I used InsuranceWith to travel to NZ from the U.K. It was really expensive then and costs nearly as much as the flight. Next time (I wish) I wouldn’t bother with insurance unless I was going to the USA or similar.
I haven’t needed travel insurance since then but it was difficult to find cover to include MBC. Going on-line the “computer says no” but if you phone companies (and are prepared to give your entire medical history which I found exhausting) then you may be more successful.
You could also try asking for recommendations from Maggies, Macmillan etc.
