Every day is a new journey

I'm hoping to find more information from other people who have been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Any tips on diet, different medications after the original set stop working, and mindful management of stress? I would love to connect with other people in my situation. Thanks everyone in advance for reaching out, I appreciate any advice given!

Hi Fiercefighter13, welcome to the group, I hope you find it as helpful as I have. Like you I’m in the US in my 50s and there are a few others on here (including Pbsoup ), plus many lovely ladies from the UK and beyond! Re your questions, I’m still on my first set of meds so hope others can respond to that part. On diet I’ve been vegan since my first breast cancer, but I think each person has to find what suits them. Alcohol doesn’t agree with me since I started Ibrance, so zero drinking.

I’ve found the stress and uncertainty very challenging psychologically. Meditation, stretching / yoga and getting a generous amount of sleep helps a lot, plus walks in nature and time with loved ones.

Some good info resources I’ve found:

— Radical Remission, by Dr Kelly Turner

— Kris Carr, Crazy Sexy Cancer film & blog

— The Anti-Cancer books (Anticancer by David Servan-Schreiber and Anticancer Living by Lorenzo Cohen and Alison Jeffries)

— Broken Open: How difficult times can help us grow, by Elizabeth Lesser

— The Five Invitations: Discovering what death can teach us about living fully, by Frank Ostaseski

Hope this is useful and wishing you the best on your journey 🙏🏼💜

Greetings, One of the best things we can do for ourselves is obtain science-based information that is continually updated as new treatments are approved and novel research findings are published. For information about approved MBC treatments by subtype, cutting edge research, side effect mitigation, finding clinical trials, and more, you may want to read my book, "The Insider's Guide to Metastatic Breast Cancer" which is also available as a complimentary .pdf. You are welcome to visit insidersguidembc.com

With good wishes!
