I’ve just received my lab results and everything is okay except that my bilirubin is high at 2.20- Referance range is 0.2 -1.0. Does anyone here with liver Mets have high bilirubin too and how did you get it back to normal? Since August 16, I added Navelbine oral to Xeloda. Seems to be working as my CA15-3 decreased by almost 20%. However my bilirubin is high.

Liver Mets with High Bilirubin
Have you tried coffee enemas? They are very effective in helping with the liver mostly. Liver and gallbladder obviously closely connected. Also, I like microbe formulas products for liver , TUDCA, and lymphatic drainage. My bilirubin stays in a good range but I have been doing a lot of supplementation, etc. Also, I try to keep my creatinine lower than normal by making sure my kidneys have a tone of fluids to clear this mess. I am currently on reduced dose taxol and doing much better than when I was on oral meds.
Thanks for the quick reply. What products do you use? Milk thistle?
So many hard to know where to begin. But, yes, milk thistle important, also Boswellia.I really like microbe formulas products and they have an excellent TUDCA (great for liver) and a lymphatic support pill that is excellent and helped my lymphatic system. I have lymphatic massages every two weeks and that system has repaired quite a bit. I also really like global healing tinctures and think I may go that way more than pills. A product called modifilan which is a seaweed extract seems excellent. I strongly believe that we all need to look into parasites as well. I do a parasite cleanse (full moon challenge) every few months to clear out those nasty critters that create so many diseases. I take others.
I also think pancreatic enzymes are critical. I use PURE Encapsules
Hi Sandra. Thanks for replying. Your observations and comments are, as usual, so informative and calming to fractious nerves. My indirect Bilirubin is high but not the direct hence total bilirubin is high. My liver enzymes are all normal and hemoglobin is normal too. I too don’t like to take supplements if I don’t have to. I drink green tea every morning but if coffee has more benefits to the liver then I will switch but drinking black coffee will take some getting used to. Would you know if decaf would have the same effect as caffeinated coffee? I read somewhere that ground coffee is better than instant coffee. On Monday, I am seeing my oncologist and I will discuss with him the lab results. Once again, thanks for your time and advice Sandra. I will update you. ❤️Maria
Sandra --- Thank you so much for the comment on the beneficial effects of coffee. I can drink it with a nice smile on my face, now. Back, for so many years, I would feel guilty about my two and a half mugs of coffee I consumed every morning. Then, I read that coffee is now considered okay. I have finally been supplied with a reason that it is good, not bad. You put a smile on my face already, today.
Thank you Sandra for having an analytical mind😊. The advice you give to all of us here in Health Unlocked is precious and has helped so many of us. In particular the video and the information you shared with me prior to my WBRT was truly helpful. Going back to the bilirubin, the 2 labs I use both give direct and indirect levels of bilirubin. One just uses the terms conjugated and unconjugated. Now that you mention it, my RBC is slightly lower than normal although it has been that way for a few months now but my hemoglobin is well within the normal range. When my oncologist and I discussed the increase in bilirubin levels, he thought it might be caused by the Navelbine since it was when I started taking it that the bilirubin level spiked. Since we are trying the new study Xeloda/Navelbine combination we don’t really know what to expect except that in the product insert of Navelbine, one of the side effects is high levels of bilirubin. So we are doing an experiment again by lowering the dose of Navelbine by half and Xeloda by a little bit. So now my Navelbine is 20 mg once daily MWF (previously 2 x day MWF) and Xeloda now down to 2x 500 mg daily (from 3 x 500 mg daily.) I will have another blood test in 4 weeks time and I will let you know if the bilirubin is lower. Re COFFEE per your advice, I will switch to drinking coffee. My problem with caffeinated coffee is that sometimes I get palpitations. So if decaf ground coffee has the same good effects on the liver then I prefer drinking that. I’ve found some brands advertised online.
Once again, THANKS❤️ Maria
