Hello pretty ladies I hope you are doing very well. I wanted to ask you if any of you who are on the ibrance and letrozole combo have suffered from REFLUX. What were your first symptoms and what did you do to correct this? Thanks.

Reflux
Yes I had awful reflux. I now take Omeprozole but not on a regular basis as I’m not that keen on the side effects from it. I have lactose free cream and milk and never have white bread as that all gives me reflux. My Doctor also prescribed Gaviscon tablets and I’m find with them. Hope this helps. Cheryl
Yes. I take omaprezole every am and it dies the trick. Of course I still monitor what I eat. My stomach and cough tell me when I have overdone it!
Yes the cough is terrible for me
Hi, I had bad reflux for first time in life on cycle 2 and 3 of ibrance and faslodex. Am on reduced ibrance for cycle 4 and its almost gone.
I have been on Ibrance over 4 years. My gastroenterologist has me taking 20 mg omeprozole in the morning and again before dinner if I need it. I take 2 tums if I feel the need.
My reflux stopped when I started Xeloda. Don’t know why.
I personally have suffered from this but I have invested quite a lot of time in gut health which can become depleted during treatment and that has really helped me

Hi, I am on Herceptin/Perjeta, but have had issues with a REFLEX since I began treatments. Very unpleasant. What helps me is: lemon/ginger lemonade, no sugar. Well blend than strained (for nausea too).
However, if it happens when I brush my teeth, I just stop and return later.
Washing the mouth with salt somehow also helps me.
I hope it's the only side effect you have.
Yes. And I also am on esomeprazole.
in the long run meds like heartburn meds do more harm than good -- you WANT stomach acid, the trick is to calm the stomach sphincter into NOT opening when you're not eating. I've found a lot of reflux advice to be counter-intuitive. I drink an apple cider vinegar tonic every morning & haven't had an issue -
I'm also on Ibrance/letrozole and developed every GI problem there is, except reflux: diarrhea, constipation, gas, intense stomach/intestinal pain, none of which I ever had before taking these meds. I take one 250mg magnesium daily, and it's like a miracle. It's almost totally under control. I have no idea if it'll help reflux, but for a couple of bucks, it's worth picking up some magnesium supplements and giving it a try.
I have acid reflex and was prescribed pantropazole which is equal to omeprazole. I take it twice a day. I also don't eat spicy foods or fried foods. I also take lactaid right before I eat dairy. This all seems to help. I take Ibrance and get Faslodex shots. I blame the Ibrance.
Follow up to previous reply : i am going to go up to full ibrance dose but will have domperidone and omeprazole on hand when reflux recurs 😊 so can get full benefit of ibrance.
I'm on ibrance and Faslodex. I do have occasional reflux. It's usually after a big meal. I just keep my meals small to avoid it. When it does crop up I take an over-the-counter med.
I have always (anyway for a long time) suffered from reflux. Now with Ibrance and Letrozole, it is worse. I am taking an acid reducer (OTC) such as Omeprazole or similar and it takes care of the reflux, more or less.
Interestingly no. I had problems before I was diagnosed and the symptoms actually disappeared once I started treatment. X
Hi Maludagui
I have suffered from reflux and take Lansoprazole for it which keeps it at bay but just watching what you eat can help as well. I just couldn't keep the reflux down to start with but once on Lansoprazole it did the trick. Otherwise I was fine with everything else.
