I have been on Ibrance and letrozole for seven months now. My hair has been thinning quite a bit. I tried parting it different ways, headbands wide enough to cover my balding spots in front, and scarves. I lost my hair before with my last treatment, I didn’t have a choice. This time was different because I wasn’t losing all of it but the thinning and bald spots were so frustrating!
I took control last night and shaved my head. It was my choice, my terms. I bought a cute wig and I can wear it or not.
I have to say I feel empowered, it’s one thing I can control. So, hey Cancer 🖕🏻!

Ah, yes! I too am struggling with that. I told my boyfriend that I’ve lost my one breast, and lost my hair. Now I’m losing sleep and my hair again. Drs keep putting me on meds to help me sleep, but nothing seems to work. I’ve always been sleeping less since chemo in 2015. But it has gotten worse since I’ve been put on hormone blocker and ibrance. I have many wigs now with different styles, but I’ve kept what little hair I have just so certain head covers make it look like I am having a bad hair day. But I have one big bald spot right smack in front of my head, it’s all I see when I take head cover or wig off. It frustrates me, but i keep holding on knowing my meds are helping. Kudos to you! Love that u did that. I may do it too, eventually. God speed! Stay strong.
Try taking Natures Bounty. You can get it at Costco. They are chewable gummies. I take two every morning. I just started taking them two months ago and already they are improving my finger nails. My hair feels a bit stronger but it will take more time for me to know if this product will actually grow hair. Vitamin B is also helpful in growing hair. Hugs Marlene
I think you look lovely and empowered. It is a positive way to take control of a difficult situation. I too have experienced a lot of hair thinning from Ibrance and Letrozole and have bought 2 wigs, a synthetic one that looks pretty much like my regular haircut that I put on if I am going to the doctors or out for a quick lunch or dinner and a hybrid one that is a bit longer and looks more natural that I could wear if I went somewhere really special. When I wear them, I feel younger, stronger and pretty. Hugs to you
You go Cecelina! You look awesome! Not sure I could be that bold but I have lost quite a bit of hair after 9 months on Ibrance and Fulvestrant. After losing it all to chemo the first time around and getting it back it is like a slap in the face when this happens. I try to put my big girl pants on and focus on the meds that are prolonging my life but some days…. Best to you special lady! Continue rockin that look!
You are brave to shave your head but if it makes you feel good then it is the way to go. I have been on Ibrance and Letrozole for over 24 sessions and I too am losing hair. I have started taking a product called Natures Bounty. You can get it at Costco. I have only been taking it about two months but I already notice that my finger nails are stronger. It is a bit early to tell with my hair but it does feel a bit healthier. My friend has been taking this product and she said her hair thickened up quite a bit. I did notice a few months ago that her hair looked much healthier. So maybe this product is worth trying. I take two gummies every morning as well as some extra vitamin e and vitamin B. The gummies are easy to take because they are chewable. So maybe this could help you too. Hugs Marlene
Welcome on here Cecelina and I hope you are doing well on Ibrance/Letrozole ! I have been on this combination for nearly four years (in December) and my fine hair has thinned and the texture has become dry and course. I think you are very brave to have taken the decision to shave your head , when you still have some hair , but it was your decision and on your terms ...I was drawn to your beautiful smile when I looked at your picture. Wishing you well ! 💕x
5 mg of a dark chocolate edible gives me, at the minimum, a solid 7 hours of sleep. If it’s available/legal where you are, you could give it a try.
I also am taking Ibrance and my hair has thinned dramatically. When I go out I pop on a ball cap or, occasionally , a wig. It’s just hair, right?! I feel great and that is all that matters.
Hello hello my beautiful lady!!!I am really so so so with you! I understand you 1000% since I am here again (chemos again and thinning hair and spots) and it is so so so frustrating 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
So you did the better job! Let's be our selfs and the basic is that we should feel good!! So you are looking so good!! Keep moving.
You go girl! I like your “accessories” - that great smile and the loving support next to you!
Hi, I had minimal hair loss on Letrozole and Ibrance. It grew back apart from one tiny spot. You look gorgeous and well done on being so brave and shaving your hair off. A better option for you. It’s so frustrating waiting for the baby hair to grow through. Mine is now mostly curly when it gets longer. It’s all over the place with some wavy hair, some curly and some straight. so I have it cut very short. I prefer it that way. Im sure you will have some regrowth in time. Best wishes
