I am starting ibrance next week. If you have ever taken ibrance, how long did it take for your tumor markers to decrease? My oncologist measures tumor markers by using CA 27.29; my level is currently over 9000.

How much time before CA 27.29 goes down after starting ibrance?
You can search tumor markers on here as we all discuss them constantly. Mine were up to 9000 at some point too but I dance didn’t work for me so I am taking Xeloda and now my markers are around 200. So many variables… you will get great feedback here
Hi I’ve been on ibrance since last may and unfortunately for myself it is no longer working for me. My tumour markers started going down after around two month and carried on reducing till about a couple of month ago when they started to rise again. My oncologist has just informed me that the bone cancer is moving in my spine so looks like hopefully there’s another combination we can try. Good luck and fingers crossed they drop quickly. Take care
How much did yours go up.? I decided 3 points wasn't going to make me panic!
Hi they went upto over 200 after they had reduced to 48 so quite a few. Oncologist says she prefers to work off scans as tumour markers are not always reliable.
Hi there and welcomeI hope you get great results from Ibrance. I have been on it for 2 years and saw a decrease in markers and felt better straight away. Over the first 6 -9 months there was a steady decline in numbers until I plateaued, which is where my numbers sit now.

I've not had that one but my CA15-3 went down in first month and successively until last month, one year in when it went up by 3 points. I'm told it's the general trend they follow but my oncologist is most interested in scans and how I'm feeling. Good luck with your treatment. X
At diagnosis my CA27-29 was 4,000. Tamoxifen brought it down to about 100 over time and then stopped working. Verzenio brought it down to about 50 in 3 months and probably in another 3 months to the 30s. It lingers now in the 50-60 range and scans show it's working well. I've never been on Ibrance but I hope this helps.
I’m on Ibrance 4 th month started to see small change in second month and third….. hoping bigger in this month but I get a scan on the 10th of August so we will know for sure soon.
I was on Ibrance for a year and it stopped working. Went up to 1100 and freaked out. I am now on Xeloda for a year. Markers went down to 118 but are up to 184. Was on a week off two weeks. Just increased to 8 days on to try and lower numbers. The next time will be 9 days on. The last few days on Xeloda I am very headache prone and fatigued.
Good luck in finding what works for you. I have MBC in my stomach lining and rectum. I had it in my ribs and Ibrance turned it into scar tissue.
I see my oncologist every 3 weeks and do a blood test too. Waiting for my new numbers. So nerve racking.
Try restorative yoga. Very calming.

I have been on Ibrance since November 2020. My CA27-29 went down a bit the first month of treatment and have been going down or remaining a bit stable ever since. The highest it ever was though was 64 and now is at 46. Hope yours go down as well. Best of luck with this treatment.
Hi there I started Ibrance (palbociclib) last September at that point my CA-153 (the tumour marker they track for me) was > 1,300 it’s now below 200 as of July. So a 85% reduction over the 10 month period
The advice I received was watch the trend line as the absolute number is not as useful as the trend. Some people can have a high number but their cancer isn’t as aggressive as someone else with a lower marker. Therefore the trend over time is the best measure.
It hasn’t fallen every month one month it rose by 6% month on month but overall the trend is positive.
