I have been taking Ibrance and Letrazole in the mornings. I was just recently reduced from 100 mg to 75 mg because of my continued blood work issues. Wondering what part of the day all of you on the same drugs take yours. Was told the 75 mg was just as affective but not as hard on your WBC. Hope everyone has a Happy Easter weekend!

Hello Judy!I have been on same combo since September 2018. I was struggling with my WBC and neutrophils on higher dose as well and have been on 75 for just over 1 year. I still have issues every once in a while where my counts are still low like this past week. I had to take an extra week off before starting my next cycle tomorrow. I take both Letrozole and Ibrance at night before bed. I was having some stomach upset taking it during the day and now I just sleep through it. For me it's much better. My oncologist has said that 75 is just as effective as higher doses....always makes be wonder why then do they start us out so high knowing the effects it has on our blood/immune system. Hope this helps. Hugs! Aimee
Hi Judy. I take my Ibrance with my evening meal and Letrozole around 21.30 hrs as it can cause hot flushes and it’s better to take it nearer bedtime to ease the issue. I also take Ibrance with a pint of water to make sure it’s easier on my stomach. My WBC has been fine for over two years now.Hope this helps and Happy Easter weekend to you to.
Hi Judy! I've just completed my second cycle of Ibrance so not too much experience. I started taking it with breakfast but felt wiped out during the day so I shifted it to 7 pm with dinner and that seem to work for me. Agree with Sandra that the effect on your neutrophils is very unlikely to change based on what time you take the medication, it's the l dose level that affect the neutrophils so the decrease in you dose should help. Happy Easter!
Thanks Sandra for all of the useful information. I would probably have difficulty with taking it at bedtime and try to get the needed water in. How much water do I need to drink with the Ibrance?
My mom was on Ibrance for 3 and a half years and they also dropped it to 75. She tolerated it well until about last year in June when they claimed it was no longer working because they saw a tiny increase in FDG going towards the stomach and switched her to two different ones and neither worked. The cancer went crazy and caused an obstruction to her kidneys. They placed stents and three days later had to take her to the emergency where they had to place nephrostomy tubes. She has been in the hospital for 12 days now. I guess what I am trying to say is to try to stay on Ibrance and letrozole for as long as possible. I think I should have fought with the doctor. Afterwards, go straight to Taxol before the cancer goes insane. I am still learning and I know everyone is different but I truly believe in my heart the Ibrance should not have been changed. I have read in other posts some people have been on it for 5 years or more. Sending prayers to all.
