Received second Pfizer vaccine!

The rollout of the vaccine in Massachusetts has been sloppy. Fortunately I was able to coordinate the system so that my 93 year old aunt and uncle, my husband and I received our shots together.

I teared up in relief seeing them get their shots.

Here’s hoping for no side effects.

Well done! I am sure that not only did you feel relief but you gave so very much to those members of your family. It is such a relief to get vaccinated and be set free of the fear! I spent so much time and had so much anxiety at my inability to get vaccinated. When I was told that I needed to have the surgery, I was vey upset that I was to go to hospital unprotected against the Covid19. I had surgery on Wed, 2/17/21, came home on Fri ,2/23/21. On Mon,2/22/21, I called and used my acting skills to be a much older, weaker, more helpless and disoriented person than I already am and got an appointment for three days later, on Thur,25.21 with an offer of a ride, which I did not take. Whew!

I got my first Pfizer shot on Friday. I was really tired the next day (more so than usual!) and a bit achy but Sunday I felt normal. I felt so happy and hopeful after getting it. Didn't hurt that the sun was finally shining too!

Hi Martha,

I know what you mean! It is a relief to be vaccinated, isn't it? I had my first Pfizer vaccine on 24th February. I had been reading an article on how cancer patients have been advised to get their second dose three weeks later to provide the best protection, so I mentioned it today during my appointment with my oncologist. She said that she had read the same article and recommended I get it done sooner rather than later. So when I see my GP tomorrow for my monthly zoladex injection I will see if I can book my next vaccine sometime this week. If there is nothing available locally, my oncologist said I can have it done at the hospital.

my husband and i got our first pfizer vaccine this month and will get our second in three weeks. we're in indiana and had to wait until the offer got to our age group. we both had a sore arm the next day, though i had some extra tiredness, probably because of my cancer meds. on the third day, all was well! and this gets us closer to hugs!!!!!!
