Hello all you lovely brave people, fellow warriors!

Has anybody else feels we need to fight for more funding for MBC?

To my knowledge most the breast cancer funding goes to the early stages. And only 2-5% goes to MBC. I know voices had been raised- but not much has been done. Hope Im wrong. Anyone follows this?

This is very important to us- they must find the cure. 30% of women ended up with MBC at some point- so why are they not investing more into the research?

I was furious when I found this statistic. It is like they just write us off. This group is one I have come across, but, I don’t know much about them. metavivor.org/research/

Here's the opening paragraph in the section on Research News for the reference Ardie1970 provided:

"In the United States, someone dies from breast cancer every 14 minutes. This number has not decreased significantly in nearly 40 years despite a huge movement to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Just wearing, buying, or even walking for "pink" does not reduce deaths from breast cancer. Scientists know that research specifically focused on metastasis is crucial to significantly reduce the breast cancer mortality rate. Metastasis research is challenging for various reasons. However, the biggest obstacle is lack of funding: only an estimated 2-5% of the funds raised for breast cancer research is spent on studies of metastasis."

If any of you order through Amazon, they have Amazon Smile where you can select an organization that they will give to when you purchase things. I have them give to Living Beyond Breast Cancer (lbbc.org). I love that!
