Morning Jo! Yes , same here ...I’m wondering what will be in his speech on 22nd ... they say the so far very successful rollout of the vaccine will mean the gradual coming out of lockdown within the next couple of months ... just can’t wait to eat out again , even if it’s just outdoor cafes initially . We have even booked a staycation break in a Forest lodge early July ( with cancellation insurance !!) . Keep busy and stay positive ...Spring is just around the corner ! x
Yes, you are right - Spring is around the corner and I just need to cling onto hope that lockdown eases soon.
Jo xx
Hi Jo,
I'm also anticipating what the Prime Minister will spell out for us next week. I have a feeling we will remain in lockdown, but that schools will gradually reopen. It must be so hard for parents juggling working from home as well as teaching their children.
I can also understand your frustration with lockdown. It's certainly not been easy. Even though I have carried on working throughout the pandemic I miss being able to jet off on holiday, socialise with friends and have the freedom to go out at the weekend, while having strict restrictions guiding everything I do.
I've stayed in contact with friends though and chat regularly on Zoom with them. I also occasionally meet one friend for a socially distanced walk, which helps. Could you do the same when you are walking your dog?
Let's just hope that infection rates and deaths continue to plummet and that life will soon return to some sort of normality.
I think you will feel much better if you meet a friend for a dog walk. Even though I am a professional dog walker I still benefit from going out with someone else for the company, as I do all my dog walks alone. I joined a friend this afternoon at a nearby field when she took her dog out and we had a lovely catch up. Just getting to see a friend in person can make all the difference and make you feel more connected.
Here's to all of us being challenged by Covidtime and a long winter days. Spring will come eventually. Just two more months of solid winter here. Each day gets us closer and yet complaining is allowed and sometimes needed to counteract this Covid inertia that sets in. Here's to all of us.
I think spring coming will lift our spirits, and we will really appreciate every extra little thing we are allowed to do. Hang on in there- I feel we have turned a corner in the UK.
These are crazy times. I live in California where we have a governor who locks us down every chance he gets and dosen't follow the science at all. I definitely have not been a good girl during this time. We have traveled to Vegas 4 times to see the grandkids and we go to our local casino every chance we get. I was telling my oncologist yesteryday that I feel like I lost a whole year of my life and I was going to take all precautions and have some fun. She agreed and said she trusted me to do the right thing and be careful. I certainly hope your restrictions are lifted soon. God bless you!!
It’s tough not to get discouraged when this pandemic has lasted for so so long. I place my hope on the vaccine and as others have said, the beauty of the spring and summer.
Hi JoI am with you on this - really starting to struggle myself now, and finding it difficult to motivate myself. What makes it hard is seeing the people that own holiday cottages around us coming over from England to spend a bit of time in their 2nd home, while the rest of us are trying to do our best.
Spring is around the corner, and we just have to hang on in there a bit longer.
What do i do? I clean house, cleaned out every closet and cupboard, face time and phone calls with the kids and grandkids, ride my exercise bike for an hour every day to music, read books, took up painting, cook new meals, bake yummy desserts, watch old shows on tv, go for walks when i can (too much snow and too cold now), sewing, call old friends, making my own greeting cards, and sometimes i just take a nap. Once or twice a month my husband and i go for groceries early in the morning. I watch just enough news to know what's going on in the world. I try to stay busy when i`m able, and content almost all of the time. Not knowing how long i`ll be here, i want to live as full a life as i can, despite the covid. For now, this is it. ❤️
