Do you feel foggy in the morning?

Do any of you feel like me in the morning: just like you are in a fog. It is hard to bend over or turn around without feeling weak and almost dizzy. I am just not a functioning person until about 1:30 in the afternoon. I am good in the evening. I am on Ibrance and Letrozole and not even a therapeutic dose of the anti depressant Effexor. Is this the cancer or the meds or aging? I just turned 68 last week. I am definitely not the robust high energy woman I used to be. I guess I cannot expect to be, but I would like to function better in the mornings.

I'm foggy and tired every morning untill around 10:00 or so. Don't feel refreshed or relaxed. I used to have alot of energy too. But no more. I'm 67 but I think it's the Ibrance and Faslodex. And I take mirtazapine to sleep and it feels like it affects my waking up!

I also think it's the stress of having mbc that depletes our energy.

Thanks for responding. I am suspecting that my blood is low. I was last at the cancer centre Nov 4th and do not return until Jan 29th. Traditionally I went every month but with covid it has changed. I think this is too long a time to go without blood work.

Might be. Covid has certainly messed up our schedules.

I wonder if taking the meds at a different time of the day would help. You probably have tried this.

Cheers, June S.

You know that could be right. I was taking the capsule at supper time and then last visit they gave me the Ibrance pill. I thought it was great as I could take it in the morning. I may try taking it in the afternoon and see if there is a difference.

Hope that helps. I know a change of schedule has worked for some of us. Good luck. Can't have you foggy for Christmas!

Cheers, June S.

I have tried. Taking meds at night seems to work better for me.

It takes time to work out a good schedule I think because we have different sleep patterns, eating habits, etc., and I think sometimes nothing works. The medicine might be too strong for us.

Cheers, June S

It is definitely the Ibrance. Not so much the letrozole. I was on letrozole for a few years and had no problem until I began Ibrance again. it beats the crap out of us. And yes, for me, after a lot of morning water and food I begin to pick up as well. I feel best in the evening.

Okay, maybe this is common. Thanks

Hi rubyc

As I enter into my 10 year of mbc my concentration and word finding is deteriorating.

I have numerous brain scans all is well in that area. My cancer Is all sketical . I would expect brain fog after 74 radiation ,numerous IV and oral treatments. I start sentences and half away through I forget my point or lose a word. I'm always apologizing for it ... No more .. Today's thought .... I Don't apologize for mbc why then for brain fog....

take care be safe I hope all of you have a great holiday season

God bless

Shelby

Thanks. Good to hear you are in your tenth year. Yes, I like to study scripture but find it difficult to concentrate. I just feel light headed and as I read the words I am not able to digest what they say. My eyes are also irritated and they drip. Both the optometrist and the ophthamologist say they are ok and do not know why they are irritated. It has to be the meds.

Hi There,Yes! I am 48 and have the problems you mentioned. However it's the evening for me. I take Ibrance 125 at 6-630 pm, Letrozole at 10pm. I do work 9-4 but am completely spent once I take that pill. So tired, foggy headed, exhausted, its a struggle to do anything. Pre-MBC I worked 8-7, cook, clean, etc., etc. etc. and go to bed at 11pm. Now I must utilize the AM before work. After two days on my off week, I have more energy, so I am blaming Ibrance.

Letrozole knocks me out, so I am fortunate that I do sleep pretty well (only a few wake ups with flashes) and by the AM I am ready to go again.

Maybe adjust the times you take meds? Let us know if you find some relief.

Take care and Happy Belated Birthday :) 👑🎈🎈🥳

Thanks. I am now taking the meds in the evening. I think that covid fatigue is adding to my overall fatigue. Waking up in the morning and thinking I have nothing meaningful to do all day makes me feel tired. Today I had some things to accomplish and I woke up feeling better than usual. I got in the car, had a coffee and went about my errands. I felt good.
