Son Living at Home has COVID

Hi friends, my 23 year-old son was diagnosed yesterday with COVID and I'm just wondering what experiences anyone else has had. I'm 60 and my husband is 65, so we are already very cautious - not to mention being aware that my immune system is lowered from meds. We are of course talking to respective dr offices, but just want to see if it has affected anyone else, what natural and medical support was used, etc, etc! Thanks! ~Anita

My godson who lives in FL and is a 31 year old detective had to get tested bc someone in the police dept. tested positive. He tested positive and had to quarantine for two weeks and then test negative twice. Odd thing is he has a wife and a two year old who both tested negative. He told me that he did not even feel sick at all during that time. This Covid is strong so I would not go with any of that herbal stuff that some people may be pushing. This is a serious virus.

I had to edit my post bc I missed the part that he is living at home. He needs to stay in one area of the house or even his room if he has Covid. He may feel fine but he needs to do that two week quarantine and bc of your ages and the fact that your immune system is lowered, it is important that he stay in one area of the house so that you constantly are not going around and disinfecting everything he touches. Let him stay in his room for two weeks and play his video games or he can watch movies. better to keep him in one area so that you do not have to worry about areas of your home being not safe.

I had the virus and could tell it was about to get bad for me. I was able to keep it at bay. I will share with you what I took if you test positive just pm me. I have had several friends and family to test positive. The rule for quarantine is 10 days from when you first notice symptoms or when you’ve been symptom free for 24 hours.

I sure hope you and your husband don’t get it.

Keep us posted.

Oh yeah. My dr told me to take zinc as it is known to fight viruses.

Thank you! I'll keep you posted. We are taking Zinc along with several other supplements recommended by dr. We are feeling fine and our son is staying in his room. We deliver food and other needs to his door!

Another good medication is Zicam. You can swab your nose and spray your throat. I do this when I know I’m going to be in close proximity to others. I still wear a mask and shield

Anita, I am so sorry that your son has tested positive for Covid. Here is a protocol of how to handle the situation when a member of the family tests positive for Covid whether they seem sick or not.healthcare.utah.edu/healthf...

Please take care of yourself and have your son isolated from you or anyone else.

Some people choose to rent a room someplace to protect their families. That may not be possible, but following the protocol as best as you can needs to be done.

My husband and I followed the protocol for two weeks with very strict isolation. He may have been exposed. We were not sure and testing was not available. We followed Doctor's suggestions to the T Both of us are fine.

Please keep us posted. Sending so much concern for you and yours..

One thing that has helped a friend whose family went through two weeks self quarantine, was to order special foods from instacart and Door Dash to keep them going. Another notified neighbors and community folks who delivered meals to their porch. They all wore masks when not in their individual bedrooms, and stayed in different rooms as much as they could.. They got through it...

Thank you for all the information. I want to be armed with everything I can be to combat this. Dr prescribed prednisone for my son last night, so I'm hoping that will help him with his symptoms and make him more comfortable. He's staying in his room and will probably mask up to come through the house to go sit out in the sun sometime today.

A friend dropped by a meal plus chicken soup to us last night. It was such a wonderful break for us!

I had COVID I quarantined for 10 days. Things I feel that helped me to recover are lipsomal VC, Zinc, Oregano extract p73 2, electrolytes plus lots of fluids to keep hydrated, steam showers that puts moisture in your lungs. Control your fever if you have one but if it reaches 104 go in to be seen.

I forgot to mention I did loose my sense of smell which made food taste not so great but later it did come back.

My husband (81) is in long term care. He had Covid early on and survived! I was with him all the time. We were not told of the fact that his roommate had Covid. He was not moved. I think they allowed me to visit because he was supposedly end stage. I have stage four breast cancer. I have been well and wonder if I have developed an immunity. I will likely never know. I will have the injection when it is available.
