Verzenio/low ANC/side effects

Hi everyone

Just wanted to share some info. with you.

I've been on verzenio(50 mg twice and day) and Letazole (once and day) for 8 months.

My CA- 27-29 numbers have dropped from 185 to 35.

My CEA 34 to 1.7

I have a progressive doctor who has helped me with these issues.

GI problems

With the use of probiotics I have totally eliminated any GI issues.

I take my pills with a smoothie everyday.

Banana, almond milk, blueberries, whey protein and 8 avmacol (broccoli extract).....blend into the smoothie.

Low ANC

The only issue has been a low ANC..sometimes it was below 1.

I did some research and checked with my doctor on taking a B6 and B9 supplement twice a day. I also take a B12 tablet every other day.

B vitamins help the bone marrow produce more neutrophils.

My ANC has been elevated anywhere from 1.3 to 1.85.

We attribute this to these B supplements.

My PET scans continue to show a considerable reduction in my MBC.

I feel absolutely fantastic.

Hope this info. can help others.

Mel

Thanks for sharing. I have trouble getting my neutrophils to 0.9/1 after my week off and that’s on the 75 Ibrance dose.

I’m off to the chemist to get some B vitamins! 😁

Thanks Mel for sharing. What dosage are you taking of the 3 different B vitamins? I struggle with low ANC as my bone marrow is weak.

The supplements I take are:

Methyl B complex

Methyl B12

Company: Ortho Molecular Products

Google the company and read about what is in the supplement.

I suggest that you talk with your doctor on dosage.

Vitamin C is also suggested to help elevate ANC.

I drink 8 oz a day with food.

You need a LOW sugar orange juice like Tropicana Trop 50.

The best to you!

Thanks again forgot to ask which probiotic/dose you take? I had a lot of stomach issues this summer and started taking Garden of Life @ 30 billion which helped. Do you also take a multi vitamin? Wishing you continued success with your regimen.

HI Mel. Thanks for posting your information. Very interesting. I wonder if this would help Erica, who posted just before you.

I think it will help me as I my immune system has trouble handling the meds.

Trying right now to find a balance of Faslodex and Ibrance.

Cheers, June S.

Probiotics are essential in good gut health especially as we grow older.

70% of your immune system is housed in your gut.

Check with your doctor.

The best to you!

Thank you for this post. I may be moving to verzenio this week. I have been concerned about the GI issue.

May I ask where you have mets and what previous treatments you have been through?

Thank you again. Andi

I would highly suggest that you take a probiotic with a smoothie....as I said before in my email blog.

This is my 2nd time with breast cancer.

1st in 2010 had a 2mm in breast and had a lumpectomy.

I had cancer in 2 of my lumph nodes...all were removed on my left side.

This 2nd reoccurence happen nov. 2019. I have very small mets in my lung lining and lymph nodes near the left lung.

Verzenio started in Jan. 2020 Along with letrazole.

I had a tremendous amount t of GI issues in 2019. Had a colonosopy and endoscopy.

Had inflammation in my intestines.

My doctor and I strongly believe the probiotics was the key to bringing my gut back to good health.

Hope this info helps you!
