Wow, so interesting that you note the watery eyes! I have this problem, too, and have brushed it off as contact lens related...I often have to explain to people that, no, I'm not crying! I was at the funeral for a friend's Dad last week and my eyes were watery, tears running down my cheeks...I actually struggled to express that, well, I'm sad, but not like THAT sad!
I view this as at most a minor inconvenience...never really connected it to treatment...but it is interesting that you mention it!
I have no advice, sorry! But I do have canned phrasing re: how to explain that you're not crying because the coffee shop doesn't have oat milk, only soy! Not to make light of it, but although I have the same issue, it never registered as something to really address...
I hope you find a way to clear this up! If you do, please share!
Thank you. I too have had watery eyes for a few months and began Letrozle in September, along with iBrance. Thought it was due to seasonal allergies, except it's not the right season now! I've just read it could be the iBrance as it tends to dry mouth and eyes. Systane is a great product: used their eye drops some time ago when I had dry eyes after an operation. Will use them again and see what happens.
I also have a runny nose and sneeze a lot but no elevated temperature or sore throat so not a cold or flu.
I have been having a runny nose, itchy watery eyes ,itchy nose ,an itchy back of throat and a phlegmy cough for a while now.At a recent doc visit she said I did not have deep chest congestion and the cough and other systems sounded like allergies.
I often have itchiness around my waist and my bra line.I think might be due to some allergic reaction to Ibrance (also on letrozole). I've been on these drugs since August of 2018.
Whenever I mention allergic reaction type things to my onc. she seems to think that unless they're persistent they're not caused by the medication.
It is strange that I have pretty persistent allergy symptoms in the middle of winter.
I have leaking eyes down my cheeks constantly. It stops me from driving and seeing the cook and I’m constantly wiping the eyes and face . The drops did not work at all . I take Verzenio twice a day , faslodex injections, and was just switched from zometa to Xgeva. HELP !
I am on verzenio not letrozole and my eye leak down my face all day all night . I thought it was from the FASLODEX injections side effect . Mine is severe for 2 years , systane does nothing for me . I’m begging for help . I can’t wear any makeup and the leaking makes me feel like I’m sick all the time
The Systane preservative free and the refresh preservative free do not do anything for me. My eyes just leaked down my face constantly I’m on Verzenio , faslodex, just switched From Zo meta-infusion to Xgeva injection.
I’m having this horrible leaky eyes , I take Verzenio, faslodex, just changed to Xgeva from zometa , on all 3 3.5 years . Suffer suffering the whole time with the leaky eyes down the face constant. I’m so overwhelmed I can’t see good when they’re filled with the water constantly absorbing the water with a tissue, it’s taken over most of my life has anybody found anything for relief I just took Claritin for the first time, somebody said it sounds like an allergy take a Claritin so today I took the Claritin actually about three hours ago
Hi, I too have intermittent watery eyes and have been told that paradoxically it is due to dry eyes (!) caused by the letrozole. Eye drops certainly help. I have also been taking sea buckthorn for a couple of months and that has substantially relieved the problem.
Hi, I get it from Natures' Best (UK) and the dose is one capsule per day containing 1000mg Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil, of which 270mg is palmitoleic acid. The problem has definitely diminished. Hope that helps xxx I reckon it costs about 8 or 9 quid per month.
I’ve got the watery eyes too and use a lubricant which helps tremendously. I asked my eye doctor why watery eyes were caused by dry eyes because it sounded so weird. Letrozol and all the AI’s cause dryness...skin, vaginal areas, etc., so eyes are one of those places. And because your eyes are so dry, your body fights back by tearing up to counteract it, thus the watery eyes. The first day I used eye drops my eyes were thanking me. Now just to get better at getting them in my eye and not on my cheeks! If anybody has any tricks for putting I. Your own eye drops, let me know!
What dose of Metformin did you start out with? Never would have thought to take it with a smoothy. I tried Metformin 750mg and had very severe diarrhea for three days. My doc then took me off Metformin and put me on Glimepiride (generic for Amaryl) and I developed hives (I would rather have diarrhea) Still have the hives, and now she wants to try me on Jardiance (generic for Empagliflozin). I don't want to go on any other pills until this horrible, ichy The reason I was put on diabetic pills was because the cancer pill I'm on, Piqray, raised my blood sugar to 315. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this. Thank you for your comments.
Yes, watery eyes comes with this medication! I have them too! I have just started Verzenio today! I took Ibrance for 19 months, but have had some activity on my PET scan in January so they switched me to Verzenio! Hopefully I won’t have side effects! I didn’t have the side effects on Ibrance, except dry and watery eyes and very dry hair, I am trying to drink a ton of water to help alleviate these problems. We will see. Good luck!
I also have developed the watery eyes. People keep offering me tissues! "I am not sad, I am not crying. It's just a side effect." I am on Verzenio, Faslodex, and Zometa. The nurses seem to think it is the Zometa, but I don't know. It didn't start right away (treatments started in June of 2019), but developed in November or December. Things could be worse!
I am on the exact treatment as you all 3 we must have the same kind . My eyes leak down my face all day and night . Your the first to mention maybe it the Zometa . So what do we do for it . Did the nurses give any advice ? Ty xx
I just try to ignore it. It's a bit better now, but still there. I have a friend who had a surgeon place ducts in her eyes for a few months to help. It did not help at all.
My verzenio directions say not to break pill and to take it in full form . I would not put it in a smoothie. Why not just swallow the pill and then drink the smoothie . I wouldn’t mess with my cancer meds like that .
My eyes are constantly weepy...but I attributed it to my eyelashes still coming back in. Haven't thought about a Letrazole connection. Is this a known side effect?
I believe it’s from the FASLODEX injections that cause the watery eyes , seems to be a common drugs all the leaky eyes sufferers , do u ? What can be done for us . Systane drops don’t do much , massaging the tear duct channel on side of nose bridge don’t work , any help please 👏🏼
I went off Verzenio for 6 weeks for surgery - and the watery eyes went away. After 6 weeks back on, the watery eyes are back. I started taking Fish Oil capsules twice a day during this on/off and thought that was a solution.... but now I'm not so sure. Still 'crying' all the time.
though I don’t take Verzenio…IBrance , here, I did have the watery eyes especially this past summer. Was it allergies or the meds? In the past three months I changed my dosing schedule for IBrance and the problem seems to have disappeared. Who knows…but your smoothie looks delicious. I do one as well with fresh fruits and matcha green tea for energy…good for you…best wishes for good scans..🙏
