Nettle tea anyone?

Good morning ladies, what strange times we are in. In the UK we are allowed out for a walk per day (!) and I have been making use of mine to collect nettle tops (with gloves) to make nettle tea. It is extremely nutritious and I look forward to my daily drink, in fact my body seems to crave it. It is packed with minerals, very useful for helping to maintain our bones. It has many other beneficial effects including numerous very helpful anti-cancer properties (see Therapeutic Perspectives of Molecules from Urtica dioica Extracts for Cancer Treatment, University of Campania, July 2019). What's not to like? It's also readily obtainable in the dried form I believe. Nettle soup is also delicious. Have a good weekend everyone, sending love xxx

Hi Angela,

I've never tried nettle tea, but I probably should! We have plenty of nettles where I live. It would make a change to eat or drink them rather than be stung!

Enjoy your day! My husband and I will probably have a BBQ later on and make the most of this lovely sunny weather we are having. We just hung a load of laundry outside to dry.

Yes, it really is good for you! I had a huge batch of dried stinging nettle leaves which I used to make tea for months but it just finished. Wish I had the plant! Enjoy. I never had nettle soup before. Will look up for a recipe once I get some more but not sure when that will be.

Fresh nettles can be prepared like spinach. Delicious.
