Today’s ‘phone consultation with Oncologist

Hi

As advised, my Oncologist rang me this morning. My bloods were fine. I then had to pop to the hospital to collect my palbociclib. I was given the option on whether or not I wanted the Denosumab injection. As I had to visit the hospital in person to collect meds from the nurse, I decided to have the injection.

My Oncologist advised that she would call me in four weeks following my blood test & hopes to prescribe 2 months palbociclib next time.

I last had a CT scan mid-December and in view of Coronavirus we will delay next scan for a couple of months.

My CA15-3 was 92 - in summary, I’m a stable Mabel!

I’m very relieved. Stay safe.

Jo xx

Stable Mabel...I like the phrase and am happy that you can claim it! It’s too bad you can’t get the blood test, the injection, and the pills all on one day. My pills are mailed but I get the other two, along with my consult all in one hour. The blood work is run immediately, or at least the white counts are, I see the oncologist, and then my shots. There is about a 20 minute lapse between blood work and oncologist visit. It’s pretty efficient.

Glad your results were stable, hopefully everything will calm down a bit when you go for your next scan

We all love our Mable don't we. Brill news :).

Had my appointment yesterday too over the phone. I'd already got 2 months supply of Palbo and Letrozole so she's just made me another appointment for 2 months time. re the Denosumab though, I wasn't given the choice, she just said they were suspending it was 3 months because it's preventative rather than curative. I'm not concerned, yes I'd rather be having it but in the grand scheme of things, I'm ok with suspending it for a while. I just asked about bloods though because I've been having them monthly and she said because my neuts have been above 1 for the last 6 months, I don't need the blood test which I hadn't realised that. When I resume the Denosumab, I'll have to resume bloods because they do the bone profile and calcium but for now I don't need to bother so I'm ok with that too.
