I haven’t looked at this yet, but I bet it’s interesting.

Hi Laura,
Thanks for sharing the article. I have read this before. I must say I wasn't very happy with this bit: "These are women who are dying anyway, and they are the ones most willing to be part of experiments. But the goal for most drug development is to treat early-stage patients successfully and eradicate breast cancer before it spreads."
Thanks again,
Sophie
Wow very interesting article. My cancer had already metastasized to my lung from the get go. After all treatments and surgery my oncologist said I was cancer free. I didn't believe him and always said it's still in my body. I asked about a test or something as a follow up and he said there wasn't any and to let him know if I noticed anything. 4 years later I had unexplained severe rib pain. Oncologist decided to do CT scan to see. That's when they found the the cancer in my left lung. He didn't even address the rib pain. I had 7 acute and chronic rib fractures. Still not sure why but I think my compression suite for my lymphedema caused it. I felt very let down by my team doctors and told them so. They said the outcome would have been the same but my thinking is if they had found it earlier the tumors would have been smaller. I was on Ibrance and Faslodex for 18 months. 2 weeks ago that treatment stopped working and now on Afinitor and Aromasin. I know my number will be sooner than later but I just take it day by day and do what I want. Quality not quantity is focus now. Only option left when this treatment stops working is infusion chemo. Not sure if I want to go that route but will see when that time comes.

Interesting read. I was shocked to hear that metastatic breast cancer gets very little funding and research.
