Thanks for sharing. Is this talking about Judy Perkins? She's the only lady with metastatic breast cancer I have heard of who has been cured.

Yes it is judy perkins, this article is from last year. It's funny how they cured just this one lady but never cured anyone else. It's as if they do not know how they cured her, why not cure us all? I pray that a cure is around the corner or better treatments I have 2 young childre that I am going to watch grow up!

I have a 13 yr old and 8 yr old. I told them I have breast cancer and nothing more. I think they are 2 young at the moment, plus my doc tells me in going to be around to raise and take care of them. How old are yours? Do they know you have a chronic illness?
Mine are 5 & 8. I have been really ill, in bed for months. Had to have both femurs pinned so have been in a wheelchair. I haven’t told them all the details. I’m beginning to be able to walk again. It’s weird because I’m getting so much better, why can’t it be permanent? So unfair. Are you able to do normal family things? Do you cook for them etc? We tried a family day yesterday and I just felt incredibly sad because I’m not the funny bouncy mummy that I used to be X
I have bone mets only, trust me it's going to be awhile before u feel almost like normal. Yes I still cook, clean, take kids out and work. I do get tired but I'll stop and rest and get bck to what I was doing. I dnt play with the kids like they want me to, but I do what I can. Treatments are getting better and you will feel good, then it will get better. I pray that a cure is around the corner or better treatments. DON'T give up!!

You are going to be depressed for months maybe years, just remember your still alive you hv 2 children who need you. Things will get better but it is going to take time. I still hv a lot of pain but I try to work through it. There are some wonderful people on this sight, take time and read so post from years ago and see how far they have came. Your battle is not over it has just began, be strong and hold on better days are coming
I cried almost every single day and to be honest I still cry from time to time. I get my strength from the lord. I pray every day, every night, every moment I can. God bless you

From what I’ve gathered..breast cancer isn’t very suitable for immunotherapy treatment..it’s more for colon cancer
One success story doesn’t give me much hope

I have asked about immunotherapy and I was told that it is more suitable for breast cancer patients who are triple negative. So for those of us who are ER+, this is not an option at this time.

I think that must be what I read...knew it wasn’t for me but at least the triple negative ladies may benefit..so it is for some breast cancers st least

Yes, it's pretty limited at this time and is not a standard breast cancer treatment. But there is still reason for the rest of us to hope. Remember when we had that live discussion recently? Dr. Teplinsky mentioned PI3K as a future treatment for ER+ breast cancer.

I understand that others in her treatment group died. Why? That's a very, very important question that has to be sorted out before they use this as a therapy. Also, I couldn't read the whole article, but what would make her prognosis different than NED?

Yes, that was my understanding too. It's great that Judy Perkins was cured, but so sad for all the others who did not benefit from it.
I am hopeful about future treatments coming along, so there is a lot to look forward to!

I always say that the next 5 years will be a game changer! I think with lots of advancements things will be be so much better for us to treat this chronic disease! And I’m getting the patent on the phrase “I had cancer when cancer was deadly!” I’m pitching it to Shark Tank on T-shirt’s , coffee mugs and stuff...let me know if u want in...😀
