CT Scan results

Hi

I received my CT scan results today.

There has been a small progression with increase of the left axillary lymphadenopathy. The liver and bone disease are stable.

I will remain on the same meds, palbociclib, letrozole and Denosumab for now and have another scan in 3 months. My CA15-3 dropped a little to 84.

I was upset at first, but decided I just need to get on with living life to the full. Thankfully I’m not in any pain.

Jo xx

Stable is good. And the slight drop in your CA15-3 is good as well. Let’s just be thankful for the good things😄

That's all good news! Congratulations. The swelling in your axillary lymphnode could be some sort of infection. Your numbers are good. ❤️

I got my CT scan results on Monday. I had my mets in the lungs. Found out on Monday that my CT scan showed two holes in the T-15 and L-2 on my spine. Now in addition to Verzenio, and butt injections of falsodex, I will now also be getting another injection (Xygevca?) bc of this new update every single month. My onco told me to take calcium supplements bc my bones may become so brittle that a simple fall could break something easily.

I thought the CT would find out what, if anything, was going on with the new cancer tumor they had found in my breast but my onco said no. The CT Scan only shows what is going on with the bones and chest and neck area (I also have severe inflammation in my lungs). So now she is going to schedule me for an ultrasound of my right breast to check on the new cancer tumor that they found in same breast as my original tumor but far from the original and see what is going on with that. Such fun.

The silver lining is that although now it has spread just a bit to my spine is that at least I can get this new medication injection at the same time when I get my falsodex so I don't have to go back a different day.

Like you, I was as long as I am not feeling any pain, and can still remain independent, then I am fine.

I've been getting Xgeva for 6 years. No broken bones, no jaw problems. Best of all, no progression. Those side effects are very rare. The shot is a piece of cake compared to the Fasodex shots.

I have been getting the falsodex from the start and have no problems with the shots at all. I just hate the meds. The dry mouth. I have to have gum on me at all times. I get freaked out if I don't because my tongue literally sticks to the roof of my mouth and I alternate between diarrhea or severe constipation from the Verzenio. I don't know if I am coming or going LOL

I have experienced the terrible metallic taste in my mouth since starting Xeloda in April. My husband is a dentist, and we tried a product called OraCare. It comes in two bottles, which you mix, and use twice a day. It has been a world of difference. Ask your dentist to order it for you! Hope this helps.

Glad the scan was mostly stable. One day at a time is my motto.

I agree. Why worry about something that may not even happen and lose out the time enjoying and living in the moment.

Hi Jo,

I admire your decision to live life to the full. You are a very brave lady.

I also take Kisqali, letrozole, (just started round 10 ) and xgeva shot. I am on 400 mg as the 600 was too much for me.

We pray the lymphnode will sort itself out and just be inflamation of some sort.

All the best to you,

Audrey

That is the shot you mentioned that my onco just put me on on Monday due to two spots or holes in my spine. Do you get side effects from that? I already have side effects from the Verzenio so how much worse can the side effects be?

I don't have a lot of side effects from the shot at all. It doesn't hurt when it is given and I may have a little joint pain the night of or the day after the shot. It is difficult for me to differentiate the shot pain from my usual arthritis pain.

Sounds like a good report all-in-all. I know we all want NED, but we take what we can and and keep on. Take care and thanks for sharing.

Good news. I also embrace living life to the fullest. What else can we do? Just sometimes struggle with it and need reinforcements.

I would kill for a 15-3 under 84. My last one was in the 900’s. On a drug holiday- was taking Afinitor and examethane- it practically killed me- hemoglobin was 7.1mg. I was so Short of breath!!! Scary. I don’t know what the future holds but I have my sons wedding in May and I’m not going to be wearing a wig!!!! Hope to go back on xeloda- not ready for IV therapy!!
