Hi all. I’m not sure how to take this. Saw my oncologist yesterday and she let me drop my ibrance from 100mg to 75mg for awful fatigue. She said that it is as effective at 100mg and 125mg. Has anyone heard this. Thanks. Marianne

Oh yes we have heard this before! There are posts on this site about this. There are reports that lower doses of ibrance are just as effective as the higher dose. Some doctors prefer to start with higher dose and adjust it as necessary. I wouldnt worry about this change for you after reading all I have on it. Enjoy your day! Faith

Yes plenty of times. It is just as effective as higher doses. Many of us have been in it💕

Yes. They say that 75 is as effective as the higher doses!

I've also read that, on Ibrance, if it works, it works. I went from 125 to 100 and have been on 75 for about 6 months. My scans continue to be excellent - no spread, tumors continue to be reduced in size. Don't even worry about it!

Yep

I had to drop from 125 to 75 because of low neutrophils. My first scan after going on Ibrance was NED. So, if it works, it works at low doses.

I don’t know; I’ve asked at my first two appts with one of the pioneer docs from original pre-trial Ibrance breakthrough @ UCLA & if I can reduce Ibrance. He said no. Can anyone please provide documentation, reports, articles on lowering dosage.

I’m tired typically my First week of cycle & extremly uncomfortable & fatigued for 7-10 days once I’m on the off-week. Otherwise it’s unpredictable when I’ll feel gd or not this I can’t commit to schedule and I adjust but friends and family forget that cuz I’m NED that—I’m fine; I’m still on meds; but back to my comment—he won’t lower my dose & im afraid to as Ladt 2 scansover 6 mos said no radiographic evidence (I know the little buggers are lurking” and I feel lowering my dose or changing my AI (aromatase inhibitor) I’ll give them the opportunity to start growing and gone will be my NED STATUS? I feel for those who are using it palliative KY or in conjunction with other modalities of treatment & can agree to lower the dose if it’s the same size or no progression; but maybe not so much with NED results. I’d like to hold onto that as long as I can. Afraid to lower my dose or change treatment. I’m bit obsessed with all the what if’s and wen will it progress—it’s prob normal as I’m approaching my “2 year mark” in November and scab is in November=scanxiety is freaking in as I’m now scanning at 4 mos instead of every 3 mos—; you’d think the scanxiety would hold off until Nov1st at least; but it’s here in teensy way and grows daily.

Thanks!

Good luck and prayers and thoughts for those who are able to decrease Ibrance or ise falaodex—hope I can follow someday—but glad it’s working for you and less side effects are nice!!

Love & good karma to all!

My doctor also reduced me to 100mg for fatigue. I also take Ritalin if I am extremely fatigued and it helps. I don't understand how it still works the same at lowered dosage, then why do they have the different doses. Anyway it's still working. The fatigue is still the same as at the higher dose.
