Inbrance restart

Hi Ladies, I was wondering if anyone out there has restarted Ibrance after it has stopped working? I think that I read an article somewhere that it could be restarted Does anyone know if that is true?

My oncologist said no. He said if it was stopped because it didn’t work then no. If it was stopped due to an intolerance then yes. I understood that it was more the manufacturer’s guidelines.

Thank You! I am trying to find a different Course Of action . I do not like the one that is being offered. I am hoping to find another of way !

It's seems that mine agrees with the rest of you I will not be allowed to go back on Ibrance. So now I'm working on another plan. Thank you ladies

I took ibrance for 4 mos. and prior to that I took letrozole for 3 mos. The 3 mos. prior showed reductions in everything; the next 4 mos. were stable; quit taking ibrance due to side effects and back on letrozole only and LAST 5 mos. AGAIN show reductions. Make what you will of it but I am pleased and pray the letrozole keeps working a long time, like it does for some ladies. I did ask my onc, "what if I want to try ibrance again in the future"? and he said he didn't see any reason I wouldn't be able to, however, if there WERE to be a problem, there were other drugs that do the same thing. My Ibrance stopped working after 19 months on it, the docs now want me to take Verzenio along with tamoxifen but the insurance won’t approve the cocktail, if you will. The guidelines with Verzenio is to take it with the injection of Fluoxetine and not Tamoxifen but I failed while on the shot combination. We are appealing this but who knows what will happen going forward. It’s a real bummer, meanwhile I’m waiting for the drug to get approval! It’s a real problem

My onc seemed to think letrozole alone is enough but just got tumor marker and it’s down again to 24. I have been cutting Ibrance for about 4 months now cutting instead of one week about 12 days then restarting.. my pet scan is in March so we will see. I was diagnosed sept 2018 and last two scans it’s improved. My tumor marker was never higher than 175 . Those side effects concern me and the way it makes me feel. 🙏❤️ To all...

How can you cut Letrozole? I was told I must take every day

Misunderstood-I never stopped letrozole but it was with my suggestion he started Ibrance . He believes letrozole alone would shrink th tumors. I am taking both but cut the time off of Ibrance to 12 days.. I took letrozole for 3 weeks then started Ibrance. I was diagnosed first part of sept 2018 but didn’t start letrozole till nov 1.. Ibrance followed end of nov starting it. After a year on Ibrance no tumors and bone lesions gone or stable. Only lymph node lighting is no calcified. Let’s see what March pet scan will show. 🙏❤️

Not sure what you are saying. Are you saying that Ibrance has caused your tumors to go into remission. I have been taking Ibrance and Letrozole since late May of 2019. My markers are down to 4. So maybe I am healing I hope so. It sounds like you are healing. If that is so then it is wonderful news. Bless you for sharing your journey.

It sounds like you are healing-down to 4 that’s great. It’s will be two years on the Ibrance late nov of 2020. I had started letrozole nov 1. I go for my next scan in March so we will see. I had three tumors in left breast and I in my right and all have disappeared. What are your scans saying? I wish the best for you.. 🙏❤️

I have been on Ibrance for over 2 years now. When you talk about it not working anymore, what happens to make that. Does that mean that the tumor markers are higher or something has come back. Never got a real understanding of that.
