Has anyone ever had very high CA=15 markers while feeling pretty well?

My tumor markers keep rising, despite everything we try. Today, they are at 853. Last month, they were 482. I feel really well, though. This is so odd.

Good morning. My CA 15 and CA 29 both have jumped up in the last 3 months to 1470 and 1700 so my oncologist changed my treatment from Ibrance and Faslodex to Piqray and Faslodex. I had scans and mri done, the disease show progression in my bones but nowhere else

It's great that you feel well, but I'd be concerned about the jump in your numbers over the past two months. Because you have liver mets, I would ask for a scan asap. My numbers did the same doubling when Ibrance wasn't working and my liver mets increased in number and size. You once mentioned your oncologist suggesting Doxil; did you start that? I started Xeloda (oral chemo) three months ago and it's making my markers drop by half each month, and seems especially effective against liver mets because it is metabolized in the liver. It's hard to ask for scans or new treatments when we are feeling well but, I think, better to know if cancer is spreading and stop it before you start feeling the effects. There are a lot of treatment options out there too, I was offered five before I started Xeloda.

I did get a scan. Liver mets unchanged. Still have 6, along with 2 growths on my sternum and one on my spine. Weird. My cancer is not spreading, but my tumor markers are going nuts. I was sent to an infectious disease specialist and everything came out ok. He thinks that my rheumatoid arthritis might be spiking the markers. Right now, I am on my 2nd dose of Doxil, Faslodex, and Xgeva.

My 15-3 is now over 1000!!! Feel fine- off the ibrance- it did nothing for me but make my hair thin and dry and make me feel like crap on my off days. Hope the Infinitor will do the trick!!

Ibrance worked for me for five months. It was a VERY lovely 5 months. Then, it stopped working and I began trying one treatment after another, including Afinitor. Afinitor made my blood sugar spike into the 300's, so was immediately taken off of it. I am now on Doxil, Faslodex, and Xgeva. My markers continue to climb and the Doxil put me flat on my back for 4 days. I have never been so weak. I only got up to puke. Dr. reduced my dose of Doxil and told me that sometimes it takes 2-3 treatments of Doxil for it to reduce tumor markers. Just had my 2nd dose of Doxil two days ago and am very tired, but still on my feet! Sometimes, I do ask myself if this is a good quality of life. I told my Dr. that quality of life was all that mattered to me. I have no wish to live in bed in a sick haze. Fingers crossed for both of us. But. If you are diabetic, watch your blood sugar. If you are not and you get a yeast infection or feel shaky, get some diabetic strips and check your blood sugar. A friend of mine in my support group was on Afinitor, too, and she was not diabetic, but her sugars spiked into the 200's for the first two weeks and then they calmed down.
