Care Oncology Clinic (COC)

I went to see my oncologist the other day. Very well-respected doctor at Northwestern Medicine. I have been sending her info on the COC protocol and we finally sat down to discuss. She. Was. Awesome. Not in the least condescending or off-putting. In fact, she had the COC-requested records faxed before I even left her office. She also contacted the Northwestern Oncology Pharmacy to make sure the drugs wouldn’t negatively react.

Be strong...this is YOUR life!

What a good feeling it must be to know your oncologist wants the best for you and is open to adding other treatments! Elaine

I’ve not told my doctors about my COC drugs but I think the clinic informs them anyway

I’m taking three of them at the moment...not taking the statins at the moment but will maybe add later

Well done! I'm so pleased to learn that your oncologist is on board with the COC protocol. As you so rightly say, this is our life.

That’s awesome! My center doesn’t help with these things. They’re not against it per se. But u are on your own! 😀 Good luck to u! 😀💕

My oncologist is the same way, Heather. When I saw her last Friday she looked at me and said: "You know I don't approve, don't you?" I said yes, and carried on talking! Just because we can't agree on off-label drugs does not mean I will stop what I am doing. I will respectfully listen to what she has to say and carry on with my conventional treatment, and talk to my private doctors about the rest.

I too receive care at Northwestern. I LOVE IT THERE!!! I am so happy that they were so receptive. My doc there doesn't care about any of my supplements, so long as they don't interfere with my drugs. He tells me straight up there's no science on them, so he can't say one way or the other. And he's just a good guy.
