Wish me luck

It has been a hectic week with my daughter and her boyfriend over so he could propose on her favourite beach near our house. That was lovely and we had a great celebration. I feel they are now rushing to get married so I can there and I hate to be a cloud hanging over their plans. I had cancer at my other daughters wedding nine years ago. Today I have a total spine MRI and tomorrow I have a CT scan of my liver and lungs. My last scan showed a big liver mets progression and I had to come off Ibrance and go on to weekly IV chemo. Bald as a coot. I don’t know know how I cope if the liver has got worse again. Sooooo worried x

I will be thinking of you while you have your scans. I don’t think you are a cloud over their plans. You are an important person in their lives and they just want to share their happiness with you. Wishing you good scans and let us know how things go (if you want to).

Thanks for your kind words x

I agree with Sarcie. I don't think you are a cloud hanging over your daughter and her fiancé's plans. It is only natural to want to share their wedding day with you. Please don't blame yourself. You mentioned you had cancer at your other daughter's wedding nine years ago, but that is not your fault and nor is it your fault that you are dealing with cancer again. I wish you well with chemotherapy and hope it is able to shrink the tumour in your liver.

You're welcome. We can all do with kindness. I have no time for negative, unkind people.

I think you're not the cloud, but the sunshine at your daughter's wedding!! You seem to be close to your daughters. It's so wonderful to be loved, isn't it?

I hope and pray the new chemo will do its job, fast! Sending you positive energy and thoughts and love ❤️

What a lovely happy picture ! Which beach is it on ? We love our trips to Northern Ireland to see my husband’s family ... Portrush Golf Open was the most recent trip and planning another next month with our 20 year old daughter to see grandad before she goes back to uni in England .

Good luck with your scans and treatments and I’m delighted that you have a wedding to look forward to 😘

Teddielottie, It is Ballyholme beach which is just at the bottom our street. It is the next beach round from Bangor town centre. We have lived here for the last six years after being abroad for thirty years. Unfortunately our daughter lives in Bicester and her fiancé works in research at Jaguar LandRover so there is no chance of them moving over, though they both adore it here. Where do your relatives live in n Ireland? x

Ballyclare is where we often have stayed , but visit others all over Northern Ireland .. and we sometimes rent a place eg Antrim coast . We spent many summers in Bangor’s marine gardens / Pickie Park and on the sand dunes at Portstewart with all the kids/grandkids . Nowadays we love to go to the Antrim coast and daughter loves the spa mornings at Galgorm resort near Ballymena ! Some beautiful places ... X

Yes, all lovely places. The slieve Donard at Newcastle has an amazing rectangular hot tub the whole length of the pool, looking out over the water. x

Lovely pic and how lovely to live so close to the beach. My daughters brought her family plans forward for me and is having her 12 week scan on Monday. Just see it as your daughter and future son in law showing how much they love you and want you to be part of their lives.

So sorry to hear about the progression and I really hope the IV chemo works well for you.

Good luck with the scans. Keep us posted. Best wishes

Beautiful picture of your daughter and fiancé. Congratulations. It’s wonderful to have our children close to us; she wants you there and it’s a beautiful gesture. Very loving.

I am sorry about the progression- hopefully the chemo is working and scans show good shrinking results. Sending hugs, 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 And strong vibes for good results. We are all here for you.♥️

Liking what everyone else is saying. My older boy (28) is getting married on Oct 12th this year. My younger boy 26 is going to be getting engaged in September. Planning on a 2020 wedding. He has asked me to scout places for the proposal and send to him as well as wanting me to get there without her seeing and take sneaky photos like I did for my other son when he got engaged. Will post one of the ones I took. They are both using family rings to propose with that they got from me. Maybe they are doing because they want me there on the day, but I don’t think you would marry a person just to make sure the parent is around so don’t feel like you pressured into something that wouldn’t have happened anyway.
